Royal assembly was had been filled with its members, representatives of subjects and a few of subjects who were stood as spectators. Duryodhan and his uncle Shakuni had claimed their respective seats in wait of queen Swastika.
An announcement of her arrival was made. Everyone stood up in her respect. Sparing respectful glance towards everyone she walked towards her throne along with princess Saumitri who had a seat beside the throne to assist the queen.
Adorning the throne, the queen permitted to start the session of assembly through her elegant gesture. Minister of international affairs addressed the matter of attention which was proposal from Hastinapur for an alliance.
"Prince Duryodhan, can you specify your interest behind this alliance?" Swastika provided a chance of presentation.
"Hastinapur is a great kingdom with power and prosperity so is Shaurya mandal. I want these two great powers to come together for greater good," greater good was a totally new word for Duryodhan to utter yet managed to sound confident.
"I can't find any sign of greater good getting accomplished through this alliance, at least not from your side as you don't have any record of helping any kingdom without any cause till now. Even, you didn't help either. So, trusting your words is difficult for me," Swastika knew history of Duryodhan in and out. So, she put forward the first reason of her dissatisfaction.
"My dear nephew has made his mind for helping friendly kingdoms of Hastinapur and other small kingdom, genuinely. He is determined show his good side to Aryavrat which was overshadowed by cunning Pandav brothers," Shakuni, the great manipulator stood in defense.
"You don't need to show your good side. It will get recognised by its own. Shaurya mandal has supported goodness only, and Prince Duryodhan doesn't have good image to form an alliance with this kingdom," Swastika was also prepared to give the duo a hard time in their mission.
"My child is a good person. He's just portrayed as bad to praise Pandav brothers. Before their arrival in Hastinapur everyone used to love my child. He had everyone's attention. After their arrival everything was snatched from him, and his reaction over that was shown in an exaggerate way when that was all obvious," Shakuni's narration was intended to gain sympathy in a smooth way.
"When he went to Gurukul he found one more person to lead the discrimination he had been facing, and he was Guru Drona. He too used prefer Pandav brothers to Duryodhan. None had tried to see the scenario from his point of view. I believe that you will do that since you had gone through the same," at the end, he indicated towards Swastika. She too realised what he meant.
"You had been shown wrong due to family of those Pandav brothers. Your childhood with family had been snatched, but you were lucky to find Lord Kartikeya as your mentor. Who can understand this pain of being misunderstood more than you?" He reminded her years long incident when she had to accept separation from her family.
"You are on the wrong point, Gandhar Naresh. None of family had misunderstood me. They were with me, and they are with me. Whatever issue I have is my personal matter, and I don't like anyone to poke nose in that, especially making that relate in administrative affairs," her sharp glare and stern voice were conveying that she didn't appreciate Shakuni's approach.
"Whatever happened with prince Duryodhan was somehow wrong on part of elders. I agree with that, but the image acquired by him is his own choice. Why had he let his good side be influenced by anything? I am not pointing out his deeds as I don't have evidence, but he must know what I am referring to," correcting Shakuni, she too reminded Duryodhan about his misdeeds of giving poison to Bheem, troubling Pandav brothers all the childhood and the conspiracy of burning them alive.
"Exactly, when you don't have any proof how can you tag me as a bad person? If you wish to reject my proposal due to personal reason then........," Duryodhan had exercised a strong control on his burst out.
"I haven't declared anything like that. Fine, I am giving you a chance to earn good name to get your proposal accepted by me," Swastika never wanted any bad person to get connected with her kingdom which had a good name brighter than any celestial body.
"We accept it. I will definitely get this alliance done," Duryodhan quickly planned in mind to fool Swastika with his fake attitude change.
"I am not done yet. I will guide you to earn good name. After all, you have to adopt good changes appropriate to the criteria of my kingdom," the end of her declaration drained away all the colours from Duryodhan and Shakuni's face.
They had no choice except giving acceptance. They had the least chance to execute any plotting. On the other hand, Swastika had claimed her opportunity of doing something new, that too at a safe distance from the devil duo.
