Akutagawa woke up due to Dazai and Chuuya's bickering. When he noticed that he slept on Atsushi's lap, who was now awake, he could not get a word out of his mouth. Instead, he started crying, hugging Atsushi tight. He did not let go till minutes later when he calmed himself.
-I - I thought you were gonna die...Please, don't scare me like that again. Akutagawa finally spoke.
Atsushi smiled back and nodded.
Yosano later came in and explained that Atsushi would be discharged in a week, normally on friday or saturday since he needs to fully recover.
In that week, Akutagawa took good care of Atsushi, he fed him, he gave him little gifts, he helped with literally everything.
And, as Yosano said, Atsushi was discharged friday. He went home with Akutagawa who drove the car since he didn't want Atsushi to.
They we're sitting in a comforting silence. Suddenly, Atsushi started laughing. Akutagawa looked at him confused.
-What's so funny Atsu? He asked.
-Well, Chuuya told me something that you did while i was recovering. Atsushi replied, finally calming himself down. Akutagawa looked at him confused.
-He told me that everyday you bought flowers for me. He said his cheeks turning a little shade of pink. Why did you do that? He asked then.
Akutagawa was speechless for some seconds until he said.
-The smell of fresh flowers might've helped your body calm down. It's nice to have flowers that smell good. And, there's another reason, i wanted to make sure you would be surrounded by a nice and calm smell i you would've woken up. Akutagawa explained, his face redder by the second.
-Awhh that's so cute of you, thanks Ryu. Atsushi exclaimed happily, his face a slight shade of pink.
When they got home, Akutagawa proposed that they both make the dinner. Atsushi agreed and went to the fridge to get the needed ingredients.
-What are we gonna make? Atsushi asked, ready to take the vegetables out.
-Should we do teriyaki? It's a dish of chicken marinated and glazed with a sweet and savory sauce. It's a healthy meal and we can both enjoy it. Akutagawa replied.
-Sure, can you list the ingredients? He asked.
-Yeah, ... And so Akutagawa listed all the ingredients they needed.
They both prepared the dinner together and had a blast while at it. 30 minutes later, it was done, Atsushi was the one who tasted it first. He thought it was amazing, and so did Akutagawa, who also took a spoon of it.
After finishing their meal, they both cleaned the small mess they made while cooking. Then each took a shower and went to the bedroom to sleep. Akutagawa pulled Atsushi in a hug and they stayed like that, cuddling till morning.
The next morning was a saturday, Akutagawa had a little date prepared so he first made breakfast for Atsushi and him. Later, when Atsushi woke up, he went into the kitchen only to find Akutagawa with an apron on, making scrambled eggs.
-I have a little date planned out, could you eat and then change? Akutagawa asked, not turning around, keeping an eye on the eggs.
Atsushi suddenly hugged Akutagawa from behind, still half asleep. He muttered something that Akutagawa couldn't hear.
-Huh? What are you saying? He asked, not understanding Atsushi.
-I said i will go change and then eat breakfast. Atsushi repeated, this time Akutagawa heard him.
-Oh, okay, i'll be waiting here. Akutagawa said.
While Atsushi went to change, Akutagawa finished the breakfast and prepared it in two plates. This time, Atsushi rushed to the kitchen to eat breakfast. They both ate and then Akutagawa also went to change.
The date he had planned was nothing too much yet really good. They first went to the cinema, to watch a movie. They watched a quite sad movie, and since Atsushi is the crybaby he is, he cried the whole 2h.
They then went to a little restaurant to eat dinner. Atsushi ordered tea over rice while Akutagawa just ordered a bowl of spicy ramen. The server asked if they would like drinks, and surprisingly, Atsushi asked for a beer. Akutagawa wasn't against it but was somehow worried. Imean, he just recovered.
They waited for 20 minutes till the food was done. When it finally arrived, they both ate, talking with each other. Some minutes later, their server came back with Atsushi's drink.
-Are you sure you want to drink? You just recovered. Akutagawa asked Atsushi.
-Nahh, don't worry, it's been a lot of time since i've drank with Chuuya-san. He explained.
Akutagawa decided to brush this feeling off. They finished their meals and by the time Atsushi finished his drink, he was a little tipsy, but not that much that he wouldn't be able to walk.
Akutagawa paid the bills and went to the car with Atsushi. On their way home, Atsushi, now half sleeping, said
-Do you want to quit the mafia and come with me to have a happy life? You won't find happiness in the PM and i really want us to not worry about the other when going out. We could even adopt a child. I'd be the happiest on earth. Atsushi mumbled, but Akutagawa could hear him.
Akutagawa was astonished, he never thought about this option. He didn't say a word till they got home. At that point, Akutagawa carried Atsushi to their bed and changed his clothes. He thought of what Atsushi told him on their way home and decided to have a serious conversation with Atsushi about this subject the next morning.
