As the song ends, Blair removes their fingers from the piano. Taking a deep breath they let it out though their nose.
It was a little past midnight having woken up exactly at midnight to play on the piano. On a stand next to their cushioned bench was a fruity sparkling drink they had mixed using a few fruits and drinks. Even after all these years they still won't drink anything with alcohol in it. But for some reason they liked to mix drinks. It was therapeutic to them in a way and became a habit to mix drinks then give it to one of their lovers.
Quinite then sat by them with an entire bottle with the label scratched off. Blair hadn't even heard him come in being too absorbed in their music.
"Did I wake you?" Blair asked as they leaned on their husband. Quinite took a swig from his bottle before answering.
"I was already awake. Then I heard you playing."
Blair, hummed and closed their eyes. They wanted to ask why they were still up but wanted to let them bring it up first.
"The Anthony Scott case." Quin stated abruptly. Blair remembered that case well unfortunately.
"Quin, it's been a while since that happened."
"Yeah and it feels like nobody but us remembers it. Not even that his brother killed himself in that ambassador's own home and it still isn't even addressed."
"Quin," Blair cooed trying to relax thier lover by wrapping their arms around him. "I didn't like it either but you know it would have brought more harm than good to let information like that out. It would just be another reason to prove the anti monster cult right."
"Well maybe they were. To a point." He added quickly seeing their glare. "I know generally they're in the wrong but they are right that monsters are a serious threat. Monsters say they're physically weaker than humans but that's actually not true. Just look at Undyne and Papyrus. One can suplex a Boulder for fun and the other can carry that fem bot around even though he's only bones. And no one wants to hold them accountable because they don't want to be attacked for being racist."
Blair mulled this over. It's not that they didn't agree with him. The actual problem is what he would be accused of outside for having such thoughts. It was a complicated situation that would get out of hand if handled the wrong thing. It's one thing to have problems with the ex royal monster family, another to make an enemy of all humans and monsters because they're afraid you're going to be the one to start the next monster/human war. Honestly even though that would affect them all Blair's main concern is how that would also affect Chara's life after finally settling down.
Blair didn't know what to say at the moment so they just wrapped their arms around their husband and kissed him fully on the lips. After he began to return the kiss they disengaged, tapping him on the lips with his fingers.
"You know I suck with words."
"Says the person that convinced two people not to kill each other." Quinite laughed.
"That is completely different from now!" Blair stated, pointing their finger between Quin's eyes. Quin took the hand in both of his and kissed the fingers one by one. "Flattery will only get you so far, dear."
"Is one of those places the bedroom?" He asked. Blair exclaimed as they were scooped off their feet and carried away.

Chara looked back and forwards between the two females on both their sides. One being Fuku Fyre of Grillby's family, the other Frisk Dreemur of the ex-royal family. They were all sitting in a triangle on the floor with fresh hot chocolate mugs in front of them. Chara sighed while the two talked. They missed when they were a ghost and could just dissappear whenever they didn't want to deal with something or Frisk.
