Orion sat on the cold stone floor, his body trembling as the adrenaline and magic finally began to ebb away. His breathing was uneven, a mixture of relief and lingering anxiety making his shoulders shake. The intense magical exertion and the recent crisis had left him both physically and emotionally drained. He looked around at the faces of his family and allies, their expressions a mix of concern and awe, and felt the weight of his actions settling on him.

Walburga, her eyes still moist from the earlier turmoil, placed a comforting hand on Orion’s shoulder. “You’re safe now. The manor is protected. Just breathe.”

Orion nodded, his gaze fixed on the floor as he tried to regain his composure. “Thank you,” he said softly, his voice trembling. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize…”

Regulus, standing close by, was visibly shaken but trying to be strong for his family. “Father, we need to understand what’s going on. Sirius mentioned rumors. Can you tell us more about what you heard?”

Sirius, still visibly distressed but with a clearer head now, looked at his brother and then at Orion. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his voice. “There were whispers about the manor and its history. People talked about dark magic and hidden secrets. They said that some of the Black family’s old magic was twisted or corrupted, leading to strange occurrences.”

He glanced at Regulus, who was nodding, his own fear still palpable. “I heard that the Black family had secret tunnels and hidden rooms, places where dark rituals were performed. Some even suggested that the manor itself was alive with old, dark magic. I didn’t believe it at first, but after tonight…”

Orion’s eyes widened as he absorbed Sirius’s words. “The rumors… they might be true. The manor has always been shrouded in mystery, but I didn’t realize how deeply the old magic was embedded.”

Sirius continued, his voice growing steadier. “There were also tales about a cursed tree in the forest, a place where dark forces were said to gather. I didn’t think much of it, but when we saw that tree tonight, I began to worry. It looked like it had been twisted by dark magic, almost like it was alive.”

Orion’s expression turned grim as he listened. “The tree… it must be connected to the disturbances we felt. It’s a manifestation of the old, corrupted magic that has been plaguing us.”

Lucius, who had been quietly observing, spoke up. “We should investigate the tree further. It might hold clues to understanding the dark magic that’s affecting the manor.”

Orion, still shaking but determined, nodded in agreement. “Yes, we need to gather more information. I’ll begin researching the history of the manor and the family’s old magic. We have to get to the bottom of this.”

He looked at Sirius, his gaze filled with a mix of gratitude and regret. “Thank you for sharing what you heard. It’s crucial that we piece together the full picture to protect our home and our family.”

Sirius, though exhausted, gave a resolute nod. “I’ll help however I can. We need to understand what’s happening and make sure it never happens again.”

As the group began to regroup and plan their next steps, the manor, though still filled with an uneasy energy, seemed to have regained a sense of stability. The immediate danger had passed, but the investigation into the dark magic and the history of the manor had only just begun.

With Orion and his family preparing for the challenges ahead, they knew that unraveling the secrets of the Black family’s past would be the key to ensuring their future safety and peace. Orion, still trembling but driven by a renewed sense of purpose, gathered his last reserves of strength.
