I found myself at the grocery store, my meager budget of $100 in hand.
I wandered the aisles, my eyes scanning the shelves for the cheapest options.
Beef was too expensive, and chicken was barely within my reach. With a heavy heart, I settled on a few packs of ground turkey, praying it would stretch as far as possible.
As I stood there, lost in my thoughts, a familiar voice suddenly rang out, startling me.

I turned to see Han barreling towards me, a wide grin plastered on his face.

I asked, my voice laced with a mix of surprise and unease.
The last thing I wanted was for him to see me struggling like this.

He exclaimed, setting me back down.
Han-My parents Paing and Karina are here too, I talk about you a lot and they're just dying to meet you.
He gestured behind him, and sure enough, a well-dressed couple was making their way towards us before I could even say anything.

Han said, beaming.
They were both talking to each other, pretty far, but making their way over.
Han-I didn't know you come here. You must make bank. This is one of the most expensive stores around.
I chuckled nervously
Y-Yea I-I see that.
Truth is , it was the only store I had access to in walking distance. Other stores were worse than this and/or far.
Han told me they only went here, because they were out of his favorite food at the other store.
He made me feel broker than anything else.
