"You are like. . .a really big nerd." Justin huffed, leaning back against a tree in the middle of the woods.
"And yet you still befriended me." Eddie Munson grinned, snapping his fingers to point at her.
"I still don't really know why I did. Don't push it Munson or I'll just go hang out with. . ." She paused, grimacing. "My brother. Or I could just go hang out with Rylie. Though she's probably off snogging pretty boy and I don't need to see that shit." Justin faked a gag.
"Don't you have class?" Eddie rolled his eyes, still smiling.
"Me? Munson, you wound me. It's almost the end of the school year and you still don't know that I've graduated! I'm simply cooler than you and haven't been held back twenty times." The dirty blonde grinned.
"It was only twice." He grumbled, flipping open the lunch box he had on the picnic table in front of him. He was toying with it.
"When's this preppy-girl coming, anyways?" Justin asked, popping up from the dirt and twigs. She walked forward, swinging her legs over the seat of the bench to sit across from her curly haired friend.
"Any minute now. Or maybe she chickened. Who knows." He sighed, reaching across the table to flick Justin in the face.
"Ow!"
"Oh please." Munson laughed, his head tilting back with a grin.
"You're a dumbass." Justin grumbled while rubbing at her nose.
"You're gonna miss me." Eddie grinned at her.
"Yeah, right." Justin huffed, grabbing her backpack off the dirt and pulling out the newspaper and flipping it open to the crossword.
"And you call me a nerd." Eddie muttered with a roll of his eyes.
"I'm not a nerd!" Justin countered. "How dare you." She hopped up, playful annoyance scratched across her face.
"Oh no, what's the big bad Justin Henderson gonna do about it?" Eddie laughed.
"Oh you'll see." She muttered, glaring.
"You barely reach my chin, you can't do a thing without a step stool."
"I swear to-" Without another word, Justin jumped on Eddie. She tackled him to the ground, ignoring his laughter as she attempted to stay in control of things only to be flipped on her back. Eddie rolled to the side of her. "You're lucky you're tall, Slash." She huffed.
Eddie shook his head. "I was only caught by surprise, otherwise you wouldn't have gotten close." Eddie quipped with a grin.
"I'm stealthy." Justin sneered, "like a ninja."
"Yeah right. I think a deaf person could hear you coming, Just."
"Whatever."
Leaves crunched in the near distance and Justin sat up, looking to see Chrissy Cunningham walking toward their stupid little hideout in the woods. She stopped a few feet away from the picnic table and looked around. "Hello?" The blonde called out.
"That's your cue." Justin nudged Eddie's arm.
He swung himself to his feet, holding a hand out to Justin to help her up. They both walked over to Chrissy, who stumbled a step away from a random tree and ran straight into Eddie. She screamed, turning around to see the pair.
"Woah- Woah- Woah- Hey, hey, hey"
"Hi." Justin chuckled.
"Sorry." Eddie let out a humorous. scoff. "Didn't mean to scare you."
