Josh and I get out of the car to see Cody sat on the footpath with Jacko and Bonti next to him. Josh goes over to the police to find out whats happening, while i go over Cody, sitting down between him and Jack.
'What's happened?' I say, looking at Cody, whose eyes are bloodshot like he's been crying.
'I'm so sorry,' He says, his voice just above a whisper.
I look over to Marcus and Jack hoping they would help, unfortunately they both gave me a shrug.
'Cody, you have to tell us so we can help you,' I say softly.
'You probably think im a sook,' He says, ad he puts his head in his hands.
'I don't, now, tell me what has happened so i can help you.'
'Okay — When we left that fancy restaurant, Marra, Naughts, Paddy, Laithy, Chook [Charlie Clark] and I decided we'd go to a bar in Bentleigh, you know the one we went to last year for Chilli's birthday, anyway, we got there and we saw Matt, Archie, Sam Draper, Jye Caldwell and Sam Durham there and - we heard Matt saying some really bad stuff about you, and Marra and I werent having any of it, so we went up to them, which was a really stupid idea, and we told them to stop because they were saying some really horrible stuff about you. Anyway, Matt got really angry and started yelling at us, and Drapes was yelling at Marra for no reason at all, and Matt was really making my blood boil and - and i punched him in the chest, and he called the cops on us, and now we're here.' Cody rambles, resting his head on my shoulder.
'Cody, i appreciate you sticking up for me when im not there but you cant be going around punching people.' I say, looking at Jack and Marcus again for a bit of help.
'Yeah, Codes, we'll talk to Bevo and the welfare people at the club and see what we can do. Do you want come to stay at mine tonight?' Marcus suggests, pulling out his phone to call Bevo.
'Are you sure, i don't want to intrude on you and Neila.' Cody says, looking up at Marcus who gives him a nod before going off and calling Bevo. 'Scar, they were saying some really bad stuff about you.'
'I know, Codes, but thats the least of my worries right now,' I say, as i wrap my arm around Cody's shoulder.
'He was saying that you and Dunks are sleeping together.' Cody blurts out and my eyes widen, i look over to Jack who has the same expression on his face. 'I know you aren't so don't worry.'
'Yep, listen, why don't you go speak to the police and explain what happened and then go to Marcus' house and get some rest, we can talk more about what they were saying tomorrow, okay?' I say, as Cody nods, heading over to the two police officers that are free.
'Well shit.' Jack says, running his hands through his hair.
'I know.' I groan, resting my head on Jacks shoulder. Jack had been one of my best and closest since I was dating Pat back in 2019, he had been like another older brother to me, and was very close with our whole family.
'Why don't you go home, i know you weren't feeling well earlier,' He says, resting his head ontop of mine. 'Ill drop you off if you want?'
'I can't leave Josh here, i'm sure he won't be much longer.' I say, closing my eyes and taking a deep breath.
'He'll be fine - look, hes come over now.' Jack says, pointing to Josh as he walks over to Jack and I.
'Sorry, we can go now, they only need they boys who were there and Bonti, for some reason. Come on, i'll take you home, you look like you're about to fall asleep on poor Nators shoulder.' Josh says, holding his had out for me to take so i can stand up.
'I guess,' I say, grabbing Josh's hand and standing up, 'Bye Jacko, i'll probably see you tomorrow,' I say to Jack, who stands up and gives me a wave before going over to Marcus.

I groan as i read through the comments left on my instagram post, deleting all of the not so nice ones. I get up off the couch and walk into the kitchen to find Josh at the counter make himself a coffee.
'Have you seen Adam?' I ask him, resting my elbows on the counter.
'No, not since last night, his phone location says hes at Marcus' though, so they're probably sorting stuff out there.' Josh says, and i nod, 'Can we talk about what you said last night?'
'What? Oh the meaningless sex thing?' I ask, groaning.
'Yeah. I don't think its meaningless, like i said last night, i really really like you, and there are so many things that i love about you, and i — i think that there is seriously something more here.' Josh says, holding eye contact with me.
'I don't know, Josh, like i said last night, i'm not really ready for anything. for the record i don't think it's meaningless, i don't know why i said that, i'm sorry.' I say with a sigh, 'Didn't we talk about this yesterday before Cody called me? I don't know why it's such a big deal.'
'Because i'm in love with you, Scarlett.' Josh says, causing me to almost choke on the coffee i was drinking.
'What?'
'I'm in love with you.' Josh repeats, breaking our eye contact.
'No you're not, stop kidding yourself.' I say. 'The last person to say that to me was - was Ollie.'
