The act of naming a monster is not simple.
Ramiris, despite being a True Demon Lord and one of the most powerful beings in the world, was in grave danger of puffing out of existence after naming unique monsters in her incomplete state.
She originally thought they're just ordinary monsters, only for them to consume 80% of her magicules. Unlike Rimuru, who had the means of staying safe after naming so many monsters, Ramiris had no such safe method.
Naming a monster has its own risk. It may vary from individual to individual. Stronger beings naturally possess a lot to spare, so they can name other monsters with a very low risk, but not even they are exceptions. Consuming too many magic elements all in one go could put one in grave danger of losing it permanently, and it could result in either weakening or dying.
Ramiris had just avoided either and paled in realization.
"Why did it use up that much magicules to name you guys?!?" She was shocked, not expecting that the stray monsters she had just decided to recruit were not actually as normal as they looked.
An understandable reaction, since unique monsters don't really travel together like a group of friends.
Not exactly something you see very often.
"Uh, because we're actually awesome...?" Said Kelly.
"You don't sound certain... Brruuer! Ugh, I used up too much magic. Ah, this is bad. I need t—" Ramiris wasn't able to finish her words as she passed out.
Kelly swiftly caught Ramiris, dropping the Chicken she was holding. After weighting their value of importance, she judged that Cluck didn't compare to Ramiris, not even a little, and tossed him to the side as if he was a freshly removed bra.
Cluck, whose intelligence was canonically on par with a rock, failed to realize he had wings and crashed to the wall.
"Bak!?"
And fell limpy to the ground, unconscious.
"H-Hey, are you alright!?"
"Ramiris!? Hey!"
"Spirit Queen! Are you okay!?"
The elf and the spirits crowded Ramiris in concern, not sparing the chicken a glance as if he didn't matter.
...
A few days have passed since the naming and everyone started to do their own thing after settling.
Ramiris' labyrinth boasted a nigh absolute defensive mechanism that was practically impossible to bypass. It could block space manipulation, making Teleportation of any kind unusable. In the series, not even the primordial demons, who were the masters of magicraft, or true dragons, the pinnacle of strength, could bend this rule. Meaning, it was one of the safest place in the world.
Knowing this, Cluck, WithFun, Bright, and Kelly collective decided to remain here for safety's sake.
"I wonder how everyone is doing?" A sigh left Bright's mouth as she muttered with a lonely tone. To his friends' surprised, that one lurker who almost never talked, at all, was quite the talker in reality.
