The coastal compound loomed ahead, its silhouette dark against the night sky, the only sounds the rhythmic crash of waves against jagged rocks below. The wind howled through the cliffs, carrying the salty tang of the ocean. I stood at the edge of the compound, feeling the tension thicken around us, like the air before a storm. This was it—the final push. We had one chance to get the antidote, one chance to save Nyah, one chance to stop Ambrose. Failure was not an option.

Ethan, Luther, and I crouched in the shadows, our eyes scanning the compound. The structure was a maze of corridors and rooms, and somewhere inside, Ambrose was waiting, with the antidote we so desperately needed. The moonlight cast long shadows, providing just enough cover for us to move unseen.

Ethan's voice was low and steady, barely audible over the wind. "Luther, keep us updated. We go in silent, take out any guards, and head straight for the lab. Once we have the antidote, we're out. No heroics."

Luther nodded, his eyes glued to his laptop, the glow of the screen casting his face in sharp relief. "Ambrose's guards are patrolling the perimeter, but I've looped the security cameras. You have a clear path to the entrance. Once inside, you'll have to move fast. I'll guide you."

Ethan glanced at me, his eyes serious. "We stick together. No one goes off on their own."

I met his gaze, nodding. The plan was straightforward, but in the heat of battle, anything could change. "Got it," I said, my voice firm. I checked my gun, the familiar weight comforting in my hand. My heart pounded, adrenaline surging through my veins. This was what I was trained for.

We moved as one, slipping through the shadows, our movements silent, our senses heightened. The entrance was unguarded, just as Luther had promised. We slipped inside, the darkness swallowing us. The compound was a labyrinth, each corridor identical, each turn disorienting. Luther's voice guided us through the maze, his calm instructions keeping us on course.

"Two guards up ahead," Luther said. "Take them out quietly."

Ethan nodded, signaling for me to take the left while he took the right. I moved swiftly, my footsteps silent on the concrete floor. The guard never saw me coming. I wrapped my arm around his neck, applying pressure until he slumped to the ground, unconscious. Ethan dealt with his guard just as efficiently. We dragged the bodies into the shadows, continuing on our way.

The sound of gunfire erupted in the distance, a sudden explosion of noise that shattered the silence. My heart skipped a beat. Ambrose knew we were here. We picked up the pace, moving quickly through the corridors, the sound of our breathing loud in the enclosed space.

"Ambrose is in the main lab," Luther's voice crackled through our earpieces. "He's got the antidote. You have to get it before he leaves."

Ethan's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing. "Which way?" he asked, his voice taut with urgency.

"Left, then straight down the hall. The lab is at the end," Luther replied. "But be careful—he's not alone."

Ethan nodded, his eyes meeting mine. "We go in fast, take out anyone who gets in our way. Stay close."

I nodded, adrenaline coursing through my veins. The corridors blurred as we moved, our footsteps echoing in the silence. My mind was focused, my senses sharp. Every muscle in my body was coiled, ready for action. We were close, so close to ending this nightmare.

We reached the door to the lab, the sound of voices drifting through the heavy metal. I could hear Ambrose's voice, cool and confident, the words indistinct but the tone unmistakable. He was gloating, enjoying his victory, unaware that his time was running out.

Ethan glanced at me, his eyes hard. "Ready?"

I nodded, gripping my gun. Together, we kicked the door open, storming into the lab. The room was bright, the harsh fluorescent lights blinding after the darkness of the corridors. Ambrose stood at the far end, a smug smile on his face, a vial of clear liquid in his hand. The antidote. Around him, his men turned, guns raised, ready to fight.

Chaos erupted. Gunfire filled the air, the sharp cracks echoing off the walls. I ducked behind a table, bullets whizzing past my head. Ethan moved beside me, his movements controlled, his face a mask of concentration. We returned fire, the scent of gunpowder thick in the air. My mind was clear, my focus unbreakable. This was survival. This was war.

Ambrose's voice cut through the chaos, taunting. "You're too late, Hunt! I have the antidote, and I have the power!" His arrogance was infuriating, his willingness to kill for his own gain sickening.

"We're not leaving without that antidote!" Ethan shouted, his voice filled with determination. He moved towards Ambrose, his movements quick. I covered him, taking down two more guards.

Ambrose lunged at Ethan, and they grappled, a fierce struggle. My heart pounded as I watched, the fight brutal, both men determined. I fired at another guard, my mind racing. We couldn't let Ambrose win. Not now. Not ever.

Nyah moved to my side, her eyes on Ethan. "We need to help him," she said, her voice urgent. I nodded, my gun raised. Together, we moved forward, pushing back Ambrose's men, fighting our way to Ethan.

As I reached the center of the room, a shot rang out, the sound deafening in the confined space. Pain exploded through my side, a hot, searing pain that stole my breath. I staggered, my vision blurring. I looked down to see blood, my own blood, staining my clothes. The pain was overwhelming, my strength fading.

Ethan managed to wrestle Ambrose to the ground, his face twisted with effort. "Get the vials!" he shouted, his voice strained. I reached for the vials of Chimera, my hand shaking, my heart racing. We had the virus, but the fight wasn't over.

The building shook, the sound of an explosion echoing through the lab. The ceiling began to crumble, debris raining down around us. The floor buckled beneath my feet, the world tilting. I gasped, the pain in my side blinding. Time was running out, and we had to escape before everything came crashing down.

Darkness closed in around me, the world fading to black. The last thing I saw was Ethan's face, a look of horror in his eyes, as I fell. We were so close, and now everything was falling apart. The mission, the antidote, Nyah's life—it was all slipping away, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
