The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. The countdown had begun, and we were running out of time. My mind raced, the weight of the mission pressing down on me. "We need to stop the broadcast," I said, my voice barely audible over the sounds of gunfire. Ethan nodded, his face set in a determined line. "You take Benji and head for the control room. I'll handle Cobalt," he said, his eyes meeting mine. I could see the trust in his gaze, the unspoken understanding between us.

I nodded, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. "Be careful," I said, my voice tight with fear. Ethan gave me a small, reassuring smile. "You too," he replied. With that, we split up, each of us heading towards our respective tasks. The fate of millions rested on our shoulders, and there was no room for failure.

Benji was already at the main server area, his face pale but focused. "Alex, we need to disrupt the broadcast signal," he said, his voice steady despite the urgency. "It's the only way to prevent the launch." His fingers flew over his keyboard, trying to hack into the network. I stood by his side, my eyes scanning the room, alert for any signs of trouble. "I'm here to cover you," I said, positioning myself near the entrance, gun drawn.

The corridors of the building were a maze, each one looking like the last. I moved quickly, my heart pounding, my senses on high alert. "Keep an eye on the time," I warned Benji, my voice steady. "We're cutting it close." He nodded, sweat beading on his forehead as he worked. "I've almost got it," he muttered, his eyes never leaving the screen.

The minutes ticked by, each one stretching out longer than the last. My heart pounded in my chest, the fear of being discovered driving me forward. I could hear Ethan's voice over the comms, strained and breathless as he chased Cobalt through the building. "He's heading for the broadcast center," Ethan panted. "I can't let him reach those codes."

Suddenly, the screen in front of Benji flashed, revealing a set of coordinates. "Got it," he said, relief flooding through his voice. "The broadcast is set to go live in ten minutes." I could see the countdown clock on the screen, each second a reminder of how close we were to disaster. "We need to act now," I said, urgency pushing me forward. "We have to stop this."

Benji typed furiously, his fingers blurring over the keys. "I'm sending a false signal to disrupt the launch," he explained. "But we need to buy some time." I nodded, my mind racing. "Keep working. I'll hold them off."

The door burst open, and guards stormed in, guns drawn. I fired back, adrenaline flooding my veins. The sound of gunfire was deafening, echoing off the walls. I moved quickly, taking out two guards with precise shots. My training kicked in, my mind focused on survival.

Ethan's voice came over the comms, strained but determined. "I've got Cobalt," he said, his voice filled with effort. "He's trying to access the control panel for the codes." My heart pounded as I realized the full extent of our predicament. We had to stop Cobalt, or millions of lives would be lost.

I held my ground, firing at the guards as they tried to push their way into the room. "Hurry up, Benji!" I shouted, the fear creeping into my voice. Benji's fingers flew over the keys, his face set in concentration. The timer hit five seconds, and my heart raced. "Almost there," he muttered, sweat dripping down his face.

Suddenly, the comms crackled to life, Ethan's voice cutting through the chaos. "I've got him!" he shouted. There was a sound of struggle, and then silence. My breath caught in my throat as I waited, my heart pounding. The countdown hit three seconds, two, one—then stopped. Relief flooded through me, my knees nearly giving out. We had done it. We had stopped the launch. But even as I let out a breath, I knew the fight wasn't over. Not yet. Ethan's voice came through, strained but victorious. "Cobalt's down. The codes are secure." The relief was short-lived as I heard Ethan's next words, heavy with the weight of what was still to come. "But there's someone else. Someone behind this. And we're not out of the woods yet." My heart sank, knowing the battle was far from over.
