The next morning, when Sophie walked in front of the only floor-length mirror in the room, Vertina raised her perfect eyebrows.

"I'm guessing you didn't sleep for 3 days."

Sophie had tried not to notice the large shadows under her eyes.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but is there any chance that you can help me with these?"

Vertina brightened up, "There's nothing makeup can't fix! Now, get..."

After about ten minutes, Sophie's face and hair was immaculate.

"I feel like I let you over-do my makeup," Sophie muttered while admiring her casual-looking braid.

"Hey! There can never be enough makeup!" a voice said from the darkest corner of Sophie's room.

Sophie screamed, then scolded at Sandor, "Why didn't you tell me Biana's coming in here? I could be changing!"

Sandor's mischievous face popped through the door.

"Well, I heard you were done changing, and since you were distracted, I thought you needed a little payback on not informing me beforehand that night about the date. So I hailed Miss Vacker."

"What date?" Biana asked.

Sandor flushed.

"Fair enough, but I knew I'd regret giving you that Imparter!" Sophie pouted.

Her annoying bodyguard just flashed another grin and backed out.

"I swear he's hanging out with Ro too much!" Sophie groaned and motioned for Biana to sit down beside her at her desk. "What's up?"

"The reason I agreed to come today is because I want to ask you if anything interesting happened yesterday."

Sophie then explained everything that happened - except the part about Jolie's picture - yesterday.

Biana tucked her hair behind her ear, revealing more scars on the side of her face. "It feels like there's something you're not telling me."

Sophie flinched.

"Fine. I searched Kenric's house as he and Oralie had some 'moment', and I found pictures and trophies and jerseys."

"And?" Biana prompted.

"And, in a packed satchel, I found Kenric's pictures with several celebrities. And one of them is with Jolie." Sophie whispered the last part.

"WHAT?!" Vertina blurted, which made Sophie realize her desk was within her range.

Blood drained from her head.

"Kenric said it was up to her if she want to be in the Lost Cities again, and she might not after twenty y-" Sophie quickly added.

"And leave me and Grady and Edaline in heartbreak? I can't imagine her doing that!" Vertina turned her tiny face around, showing her shiny black, straight hair.

"Vertina, please, stop being depre-"

"Just because I'm a mirror doesn't mean I can't feel!" Vertina screamed, her sapphire blue eyes misty as she whipped around.

"Alright, we're going to give you some space, Vertina, I'm sorry," Biana whispered, pulling Sophie to her bed.

"How do we break this to my parents now? Would they be as angry and sad as Vertina?"

Biana tilted Sophie's chin up, "What if we don't tell them?"

"We can't hide this information from them forever, Bi,"

"Hide what?" A deep voice boomed, and the bedroom door flew open.

Showing them that Grady and Edaline was eavesdropping.
