"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU KNOW JOLIE'S ALIVE?" Sophie yelled, storming back to the front door.

She walked in onto Kenric and Oralie staring into each other's eye, their little moment.

But Sophie couldn't care less about that.

The former Councillor hid an incredibly crucial secret, even if it was just for two days.

Kenric looked down at his shirt, where he twisted the edge so tightly Sophie could swear it was going to rip.

"I forgot about that until I was packing. But I didn't know you'd go into that room."

"That is no excuse why you hid her!" Oralie raised her delicate voice a little, taking Kenric's hand. "Why did you hide Miss Ruewen's existence?"

"I-I was still deciding on whether I should reveal her or not. It's going to be hard for her to see her family after so long. 20 years, Ora, 20. And it will be especially tricky with Sophie now that Grady and Edaline adopted her." Kenric sighed.

Sophie hadn't thought about the complications of the family since she was more focused on finding Jolie.

Would she be mad at her parents for replacing her?

Or glad that Sophie, the Black Swan's Moonlark, was with such an amazing family?

And then a horrifying thought across the others.

How would Jolie react to the fact that Brant was killed?

Soft hands clapped once, startling her a little.

"Anyways, I think it's time we stop stalling and bring Kenric back home," Oralie's words choked a little.

Kenric stood up and offered her a hand. Oralie reluctantly took it and pulled herself up.

"I will just grab my luggage and we can go," Kenric informed them, shaking with excitement. "I've told the person whom I sold this place to that I will leave in the evening, and I already quit my football job."

They regrouped outside after about five minutes.

"Would you still have enough concentration for a light leap after 4 years around humans?" Sophie asked, concerned.

"This is the elve's strength, Sophie, they never forget these things," answered Oralie.

She raised a crystal and smiled at Kenric, "We're going to Eternalia, Kenric."

The rest of the Council was waiting as they reformed in front of their glittering castles. And Kenric's face lit up more as he studied each of them, but scowled when he noticed the person standing on the far right of the perfect line.

"You replaced me with Alina? I can't believe you allowed that, Emery."

"We were quite hurried in our time of grief, and the entire Council missed you deeply, Kenric." Emery smiled with sadness and cheerfulness mixed together. "And as a welcome to have you back to the Lost Cities, we will give you a special gift."

Special was an understatement.

More like the weirdest thing Sophie had ever seen, in a world of alicorns and titanoboas.

All of the Councillors, with extremely wide smiles, even Bronte, wrapped their arms as much as they could around Kenric.

Although of course Alina just pouted by the side.

All of them were in tears by the reunion.

"Well, that was very unaccepted. I always thought of you as the serious one, Velia." Kenric laughed.

The black-haired Councillor just brushed a tear off her face, "Things change, my friend, things change."
