Ochaco is a contestant in a popular televised baking competition and ready to wow the judges with her amazing gingerbread Christmas cake. This year's competition includes a twist: Competitors are randomly assigned into pairs, and together Ochaco and her partner, Katsuki Bakugou must create one winning vision to take home the top prize. Will sparks fly? Or will there be too many cooks in the kitchen?
-----------
Ochaco Uraraka could hardly believe she was standing on the grand stage of *Sweet Victory*. The excitement of being on national television was almost overwhelming, but she kept her nerves in check, focusing on the task ahead. Her gingerbread Christmas cake was ready to wow the judges, and she had every intention of taking home the top prize.
The twist of the competition, however, threw her for a loop.
"Contestants, this year, you won't be baking alone!" the host announced, his voice full of theatrics. "You'll be paired with another contestant, and together, you must create a single, cohesive masterpiece."
Ochaco's heart sank. She had perfected her gingerbread cake down to the last detail. Now she'd have to compromise her vision with someone else's ideas. She didn't have long to lament this twist, as the host began announcing pairs.
"Ochaco Uraraka, you'll be paired with... Katsuki Bakugou!"
Her stomach did a flip. Katsuki Bakugou was infamous in the competition circles for his explosive temper and fierce competitiveness. She'd seen him in action during the preliminaries; his baking skills were top-notch, but his attitude left much to be desired.
As Bakugou approached, his intense gaze locked onto hers, sending an unexpected shiver down her spine. He was taller than she remembered, his presence dominating the space between them. His wild blond hair and sharp crimson eyes gave him an air of raw energy that was both intimidating and oddly magnetic.
"So, you're my partner," he said, his voice low and rough, like gravel underfoot.
Ochaco forced a smile, trying to ignore the flutter in her chest. "Looks like it," she replied, keeping her tone light. "I'm looking forward to working with you."
Bakugou's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, she thought he was going to brush her off. But instead, he gave a curt nod. "Just don't slow me down," he muttered.
Ochaco felt a flare of irritation but tamped it down. She wasn't going to let his attitude get to her. "I won't," she said, her voice steady.
As they stood at their workstation, the tension between them crackled like electricity in the air. Ochaco could feel his gaze on her as she began to gather her ingredients, the weight of his scrutiny making her hyper-aware of every movement she made.
"So, what's your big idea?" Bakugou asked, his tone challenging.
Ochaco swallowed, reminding herself to stay calm. "I was planning to make a gingerbread Christmas cake. It's festive, it's classic, and I've been working on perfecting the recipe for weeks."
Bakugou raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Gingerbread? That's what you're going with?"
Ochaco bristled at his dismissive tone. "Yes, gingerbread. It's all about how you execute it."
"Sounds pretty basic to me," Bakugou shot back. "We need something that'll knock the judges' socks off. Gingerbread alone isn't gonna cut it."
Ochaco bit her lip, her mind racing for a compromise. "What if we add a twist? We could do a chocolate-gingerbread fusion. The richness of the chocolate would complement the spice of the gingerbread, and it could create a more complex flavor profile."
