'Tonight', Xiao said.

Xiao said that he would make a move tonight. Not a corny pickup line; not another compliment; not a $5 tip (does that even count as flirting?).

Xiao is going to ask for your number.

This night.

When the crickets thrive, stars embedded into the sea of black. While the softest of whispers exchange, soft kisses between lovers and giggles with friends. As introverts and extroverts unwind, one way or another.

All whilst you work.

...

Okay, he'll admit it; Xiao is horribly anxious.

How does one even do so? 'Ask for someone's number'? (Now that he thinks of it, that term is stupid... Though that isn't exactly the point. We're getting off-track!)

...Not that Xiao can't do it, of course. He can. It mustn't be that hard— besides; Xiao can do anything. He's just... He.. Xiao...

Yeah. Xiao can't do it.

Screw you, Heizou! Screw you, Hu tao! Your flirting lessons mean nothing!

Then again, they at least had a better grasp on flirting than Xiao did...

He is hopeless, huh?

"Ugh..." Xiao groans, staring at the paper before him. It was filled with his nearly incoherent handwriting, with sharp edges as letters like the words were mere threats.

With a flick of Xiao's wrists, he finishes writing his notes for math class.

Somehow, he has good grades. It was rather surprising, considering his sleep schedule.

(I mean, could Xiao even call it a schedule at this point? The boy just sleeps whenever he can!)

Xiao closes his notebook, leaning back on his chair in exhaustion. He brings a hand to his forehead and attempts to work the energy back in.

A line of gentle knocks emit from the other side of Xiao's closed door. QiQi opens it softly, peeking into the room after a beat.

"Xiao?" QiQi mutters, stepping into the room carefully.

Xiao's furrowed brows eases by an inch.

"Yes?" He retorts. He turns the chair to face his step-sister.

"QiQi was thinking that... we could get some..."

QiQi pauses, looking down at the notepad she had in her hands. "Some ice cream," She finishes. "I heard that a store nearby... Has cocogoat flavored ice cream."

"Coconut." Xiao corrects, resulting in a nod from the little girl.

He looks at his closed notebook, then at QiQi. A temporary silence fills the room, only to be interrupted by the same boy who began it.
