His Secret Desires

Chapter 5

Nagising si Kei at may naramdaman siyang nakapatong sa ulo niya. As he looked up, he realized he had been sleeping on Axel's chest.

Axel was fast asleep, his hand gently cradling the back of his head.

He remained motionless for a moment, enjoying the unexpected comfort. However, his stiff muscles demanded some movement, and he decided to stretch a little.

Gumalaw si Axel at nagising na rin, pero hindi nito tinapunan mg tingin si Kei. He crossed his arms and acted as if Kei wasn't in the room with him.

When the boat arrived at the coast, they were all met by the waiting personnel of Hunt's headquarters. Hunt made his way to report to their higher-ups, while Kei headed towards his barracks to gather some belongings for his upcoming time off duty.

Si Axel naman ay isinama sa mga taong niligtas nila papunta sa isang silid.

Abala si Kei sa pag-iimpake nang mapansin siya ng isang kapwa sundalo, "Yow Valdez, finally some time off?"

Ngumisi si Kei, "Sure is. Almost died, though."

The man chuckled, "Kailan ba hindi? Every mission is like walking the plank to the afterlife."

"Buti hindi ko pa oras." Biro ni Kei.

The two of them shared a laugh, the joke a familiarity amongst soldiers who routinely faced life-threatening situations.

The soldier patted Kei on the back, a gesture of familiarity. "You take care now, Valdez. Enjoy your time off," he said with a grin.

"Thanks, man. I'll be sure to make the most of it," he replied, returning the smile.

Atat na atat na si Kei na kalimutan at makaalis muna sa trabaho. He definitely missed his old party life. It had been a time of carefree fun, where his biggest concerns were figuring out which girls to hook up with and how much he could drink. He also missed those slow mornings where he could lounge around without a care in the world and lazy days where he could do absolutely nothing.

Isinara ni Kei ang bag at napansin niyang nakatayo na pala si Hunt sa tabi niya. Umangat ang tingin niya rito sabay nagtaka kung bakit mukhang seryuso nanaman ito.

"Ano nanaman ba, Boss?" Tanong niga sabay irap ng mga mata.

Binatukan ito ni Hunt, tiningnan siya ng masama. "Don't talk to me like that."

"Sorry, sorry, nadala lang." A pout formed on Kei's lips as he caress his head slightly, "May kailangan ka, boss? Paalis na kasi ako. Can't wait to get off work, y'know." Atat nitong sambit.

Hunt sighed and clicked his tongue, searching the right words to say."So, tungkol do'n sa recommendation letter. About the PSG... you want to join, right?"

Natigilan si Kei. Nanlalaki ang mga mata niya kay Hunt, "The PSG?! Of course! Isasama mo na ako?!"

Hunt quickly interjected, "But under one condition," Sabi niya, tiningnan ng maiigi ang reaksyon ni Kei. "Take Carson with you in the meantime."

At this, Kei raised an eyebrow in confusion. His expression asked, But why?

"You don't have to know the details, but Carson has never really experienced...city life. He grew up in a harsh environment and his childhood was far from easy. Right now, he's probably feeling lost. He needs someone to support him and guide him through this new environment." Hunt explained.

Kei's forehead creased as he listened to Hunt's explanation. His initial excitement at the thought of joining the PSG team was temporarily overridden by Hunt's revelation about Axel's origins.
