Prologue

Lilac—North and Aurelia's daughter—has built a quiet life in her small-town flower shop, surrounded by the blooms she's always loved. But as the years pass, the memory of her childhood friend, Quentin—the boy who once promised to be by her side—l i n g e r s like a ghost among the petals. Now grown and worn by time, she is ready to let go of the past, to finally give up on the hope that Quentin will return.

On the other side, Quentin was known for his insatiable curiosity. He spent hours exploring his parents' medical and scientific books, often asking probing questions about how the human body worked and how diseases were treated. His fascination with medicine was nurtured by his mother, who would share stories from her work in the hospital, often emphasizing the importance of empathy and patient care.

Throughout his career, Quentin made a significant impact on his patients and colleagues. His dedication to medicine was matched by his unwavering commitment to making a difference in people's lives. He was admired not only for his medical expertise but also for his genuine compassion and his ability to inspire others in the field.

But for years, he has always felt that there is something missing. So, he went back to his old town to unwind and e a s e the lost fragment he's been looking for; to e s c a p e the reality for a while and to seize the days with a new and healthy environment.

And just as Lilac is about to close that chapter of her life. . . Quentin walks back into her life, no longer the boy she once knew but a grown-up man with dreams of his own.
