It's been three days since my mother told me that I was chosen... and revealed to me the actual cause of my fathers death... I haven't even told Itsuki. I'm still thinking over what Faye said... 'when you're not valuable you won't be needed' I'm also reminded of the constant 'don't trust him' repeated in my life.

I've been studying hard these past couple days on techniques, but I can't quite grasp the ability to use my powers. Only when I'm in that form I'm able to use them... and I can't even control myself then. I begin to feel defeated once more as I wonder if I'll ever be able to use my powers freely.

I sit underneath the underpass beside the river as I sit there staring out over the water glistening from the sunlight, sending tranquil waves across the surface, slowly mesmerizing me from my thoughts.

"Something on your mind, Zella?" Itsuki sits next to me as he begins to swing his legs back and forth, looking across the water. His presence pulls me out of my thoughts as I glance over at him and smile.

"Just my powers..." I say still not ready to talk to him about what my mother told me...
"Just be patient, and practice." He pats me on the back as I glare at him.
"Easy for you to say."

He chuckles as he picks up a rock and throws it across the river. The rock skips across the river as it continues to fly above the water, all the way out of eyesight.

"I awakened when I was just a child... sometimes it's not safe for children to have that type of power..." He trails off never making eye contact with me.
"Itsuki... I..." I start as he cuts me off.
"You have plenty time to practice, I know you'll master your powers." He smiles at me as he stands up and extends his arm reaching his hand out to me.

"Let's go again."
I grab his hand as I'm back on my feet as Itsuki teleports and is nowhere to be seen. He's definitely planning a surprise attack... I close my eyes as I breathe out focusing on my surroundings.

You got this Zella. I let all my thoughts escape as I'm purely cautious about the spar, I begin to hear movement to my right. I open my eyes as I dodge his attack as he misses, and teleports away.

Try harder... I can land an attack. I focus my attention on my senses as I begin to sense his attack coming from the air. I can use an escape combo, then a jab, I just have to execute it perfectly... or else he'll win.

I prepare myself for his attack, as suddenly he changes directions and swiftly teleports behind me and jabs me in the back causing me to fall to the ground on my knees.

I jump back up to my feet before he could land another attack as he goes back to his original plan from the air, I grin as he lunges from the air as I roll out of the direct hit, and I'm face to his back.

I jab him, as he begins to fall; suddenly he grabs my arm taking me off guard as we both begin to fall. He's going to teleport... I just know it... maybe. A thud sound forms as Itsuki's back hits the ground as I fall on top of him, as he wraps his arms around me bracing me from the fall completely.

He smiles up at me from underneath me as my cheeks burn red from the situation. My heart begins to pound against my chest as I can't escape the intense hold he has over me...

I'm laying on top of him... we're just sparring and things like this happen, but my nervousness doesn't seem to agree with that.
He begins to chuckle pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Not bad... for an amateur."

I pout at him as I slap his chest in annoyance as I pull myself off of him. He just couldn't accept defeat. I hit him... he just took me with him...
"I don't remember asking." I cross my arms as I watch as he stands up after me, dusting himself off.

Phew, that moment was a bit too much... my heart couldn't take it much longer, nor my thoughts.
"You're my apprentice, you don't have to ask." He grins at me as he reaches out his arm extending his hand to me for some reason.

I stare at his hand in confusion as he chuckles and drops his hand.
"Let's go get dinner." His words make my heart and stomach happy as a smile lights up on my face.
"Yes!" I fist bump the air as I follow him towards the parking lot next to the underpass.

I'm glad that Itsuki has been training me here lately, being outside and near the river is so calming it's easier to focus. No wonder he's so strong... he's very smart.

I catch myself checking him out, as I notice his baggy black pants and dark colored hoodie as I smile at his nonchalant style, it's much like my style. He reaches for the helmets as he hands me one smiling at me.

His smile is constantly flowing through my mind even if I'm not looking at him, he's definitely smiling more lately... I wonder if I have anything to do with that, or if it's from our recent victory...

I smile back at him as I take the helmet as our fingers brush against each others making my heart start to race. He barely touched you Zella, chill out. I nervously place the helmet over my head as Itsuki gets on the bike and revs the engine.

"Ready passenger princess?" He smirks through his helmet as my cheeks burn red from his words. I nod, unable to speak as I swing my leg over the bike and wrap my arms around his muscular torso... that I've seen bare...

I push the thought away as I can't take the nervousness it gives me anymore. My cheeks continue to burn bright red as I keep wondering to myself, will Itsuki ever not make me nervous?
