Taraji's POV
We were back at home now and were rushing to get to the address Regina told me they were at. I knew I was atleast doing 95, I had decided to drive knowing I would get us there quicker
The 45 minute drive went by fast and we were now pulling up there were police cars everywhere and all the people you would see at a crime scene.
We hurriedly jumped out of the car and I ran over and the police stopped me "Ma'am this is an active crime scene you can't pass this tape" he said
"No let her in she's good" some woman said on the other side who was with Regina before I could respond and I rolled my eyes at the officer because I don't know who he thought he was.
I walked under the tape and made my way over there "What's going on?" I questioned and Regina gave me a mournful look before she looked over at three body bags still not saying anything "WHAT IS IT ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME WHY YOU HAD ME RUSHING HERE!?" I said starting to grow irritated.
"T we think one of the bodies may be Keith" she said in a low tone and then pulled me out of range for the detective to hear "We finally had found some information on the day Keith first disappeared and Cel was able to track the two officers that took him and this is where it brought me and by the time I got here they were already on the scene but the bodies were to burnt up to tell if it's him or not they are going to try to get DNA samples to tell us " she said and I sat there trying to process that she just told me one of those bodies could have belonged to my son.
"How long did they say it would take?" I asked her
"I don't know but she said she would give us a call as soon as possible" she said and started rubbing my arm "Want me to stay with you tonight? Mark will make sure Rome gets home." She stated and I shook my head yes not trusting what I would get myself into if I went alone.
"Okay here are my keys I parked over there, I'm gonna go tell Mark and Rome and then call Dani to let her know I'm not coming back tonight" Gina said and we swapped keys and I went to her car to go wait on her
Not long after she was getting into the car and we were pulling off "I called Mo she's gonna meet us at your house" Gina said, I didn't say anything back and just continued to look out the window at the night sky
𝔽𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝔻𝕒𝕪𝕤 𝕃𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣
It has been days now since they took the body they found to see if the DNA matched Keith's and so now today we were on our way to the morgue. I was going with Regina and Marcel, Mary would up with us later I had her doing something for me. For times like these I'm glad I have them since I found out the news that night they have been the only ones I've spoken to with the exception of Ryan of course.
"This shouldn't take long y'all just hopefully this isn't him and Keith is still out there I'm praying that it's not" Gina said
"Mh yeah well the world better pray to cause I'm going to bring hell on earth" I said because it was the truth, that's where I sent Mo to go check things out for me.
"Alright let's go find out" she said and we all got out the car and walked inside
"So how is this supposed to go?" Marcel asked as we got onto the elevator
"It doesn't take long they tell us if it's him or not and give a rundown on their autopsy" Regina said and Marcel nodded
A few minutes later we were walking into the lab where the lady from yesterday was waiting on us along with someone else Regina and Marcel shook hands with them and I just stood to the side to watch I didn't come here to be social I just needed to know if this was my son or not
"Well let's get straight to it then" she lady in the lab coat said "I'm truly sorry for your loss, the results did indeed come back as Keith Henson cause of death was a bullet to the head with severe third degree burns I would give an estimate of 2 hours that he had been dead before the body was found" she said and uncovered the body showing us the charcoaled body lying there on the metal table
"Oh yes and here are the remains we found" The lady said handing us a baggy and I grabbed it opening it up pulling out the watch that was in there it was burned to but not to where you couldn't notice it I could still see the engraving on it confirming it was Keith's watch my dad gave to him, he and Cel had the same one
"Is that it?" Marcel asked talking about the watch and I only nodded and before I knew it he stormed out leaving Gina and I there, I decided to just give him some time to breathe before I went to check on him. I placed the watch back into the bag and quickly pulled out my phone to tell Mo to finish what I had her start which was killing Brian's parents hoping that would bring his bitch ass out of hiding and later we were going guns blazing in a few of Lepi's spots since he wanted to be so helpful. I was going to show them and everybody else that I'm even more helpful and can and will clean up all the men who couldn't do their jobs very well.
"You can go ahead and go G I'll wait here for the funeral home to come pick up the body" I told her just standing there in disbelief I wanted to blame Keith for everything but it was no body else to place the blame on but me. I should have took a page out of Fantasia's book and kept them to myself
"Alright well Dani and I will stop by later" she said and with that she walked out with the Mortician following leaving the detective lady and myself there
"I know this must feel heavy on you Ms. Henson, but do you have any kind of idea who could have possibly did this?" She asked at first I thought I was tripping but I thought about it and I never told her my name better yet never even spoke to her for her to know who I am
"I should be asking you considering two of your friends were in that car as well and you can also tell Captain- oh I mean former Captain Woodside I'll see him soon" I said and started to walk out the door but she followed me
"W-wait Ms.Henson" she said catching up and grabbing a hold to my arm I stopped and turned around looking at her hand she had latched on my arm and she pulled away "Ms.Henson look I know about Brian Woodside I've been trying to find him myself and that's how I came across you. Look we can't talk about this here how about you meet me-" she started to say but I stopped her before she could finish.
"No that's not how that's going to go, so let me stop you right there. If you want to talk about whatever it is you think you know Detective....Rosewood then we meet on my terms" I said not trusting her
"Okay I'm fine with that. Here's my card and just call whenever you're ready to have a chat" she said giving me her card and with that I walked away.
