They drove down the dirt road to the farm and Darcy had just remembered what happened yesterday.

She turned towards the window and stuck her head between the seat and the car wall to talk to Sophia.

"Sophia," Darcy whispered, "Come here."

"What?" Sophia whispered after leaning in.

"I would appreciate it if you don't tell anyone about what I did to the variants," Darcy continued to whisper.

"Ok I won't, I just want to see my mum again."

"Thank you," No longer whispering, Darcy gratefully said.

Turning back to the front she noticed how close they were to the farm and she saw Glenn in the corner of her eye turn away to look at the front.

Darcy watched everyone interacting and was suddenly hit with nerves. Worried they wouldn't like her, she turned to Glenn to ask, "Are they nice?"

"Hmm, oh yeah totally, well Shane is a bit of an asshole but other than that everyone is super nice. You're definitely going to be in Carol's good book."

"Thanks," at the shy smile Darcy let out, Glenn had only just realised how young she was.

"I'm sure you will get along with everyone," he reassured her at the sight of nerves that were sparking across her body.

Giving a hum Darcy noticed the car shutting off.

Everyone unbuckled and opened their door. This brought a couple people's attention because Glenn went alone.

Glenn was out first, then Darcy then Sophia and Bella.

Darcy was given curious looks but that changed when they noticed Sophia step out of the car. Gasp ran out making everyone else look over.

"Sophia!" A yell rang through the area with the owner racing to her.

"Mum!"

Sophia ran to Carol and once they met, they both fell to the ground in a tight hug, both crying tears of joy and relief.

Darcy jumped as a hand patted her shoulder. Darcy turned her head to see Glenn standing there with an appreciative smile on his face.

"Thank you for helping her," he said.

"No problem."

"Who's this?" an unknown voice called out to Glenn.

Glenn turned to the owner and smiled, "Rick, this is Darcy Hill, she found Sophia and brought her here."

"Thank you, Darcy Hill," Rick said to her while nodding his head.

"You're welcome."

"Are you hungry?" Rick asked.

"No, I have breakfast bars in my bag anyway."

"Ok, follow me," Rick said as he turned towards the house and led her towards it.

Knocking on the door he waited for someone to answer. A brown headed lady did.

"Rick," she said offensively, "what do you want?"

"I just want to ask Hershel if it's alright if Darcy can stay in the house," Rick gestured to Darcy when he mentioned her.

"I'll get him," she said and then closed the door.

Rick nodded and turned back to Darcy, "Where did you find Sophia?"

"Technically she found me, I was in a house and woke up to her climbing through a window."
