(Kristina's POV)

I was breathless. That familiar feeling of abstraction came back and I can't stop myself from doing so. My roving hands brush through her hair. I was willing to let her take over me. It was an outburst of an implanted fantasy, slowly giving its way to her desires. I wanted her. I wanted her to reach for every fiber of my being, I wanted her to cloud me with the illusion of having to love her—

Suddenly, she stopped. She quickly looked around as if someone saw us. I blinked my eyes as I slowly returned to my senses. She gazed her eyes back to me, turning into an intense stare.

"Let's go back." She said in a low voice, picking up a bunch of wood I collected earlier. She then reached for my arm to lead me back to the camp. I brushed my hair up, trying to figure out what just happened. She then turned to me and handed me each wood when we got closer to our colleagues. "Go." I followed her instruction and went on to the huddled group.

"Where have you been?" asked AJ. Eyeing me from head to toe. I forged a smile as I put down the collected wood on the dirt and went on to give her a kiss but she turned away. She looks irritated from the way she's clenching her jaw. I sat next to her, feeling guilty. Without looking at my direction she asked again, "Where have you been?"

I bit my lip and looked away, "I... I got us some more wood."

She stood up and went inside our tent. I looked down and covered my face with both hands. What the hell happened to me back there? Did she saw? A cold sweat started to rise with a shivering thought. What is happening to me? Suddenly, I felt someone was behind me. I looked back and it was Sage with a smirk on her mouth.

She leaned down and whispered, "It's only the beginning. I'll see you again." She walked away with fire reflecting on her eyes.

"Well that was weird. What's wrong with AJ? You had a fight again?" asked my cousin who decided to sit beside me and together with another friend of ours.

I looked over and was surprised to see Lizzy. "Hey... I didn't know you were joining us."

She smiled and said, "Well, I wouldn't want to miss this fine occasion. Besides, the city is getting crowded these days. I needed fresh air. Don't you think so, Kristina?"

I drifted off, I was recapturing the moment I was with Sage. It felt strange and familiar at the same time. It made me feel I was back in time with... with... that man.

"Kristina!"

I shook my head and looked at Lizzy, "W-What?"

Lizzy's famous resting bitch face showed, "Are you okay? You're lookin' pale. Maybe you should hit the sack."

"I'll uh... go see if AJ's fine." I stood up and gazed at Sage who was having a conversation with Carol. I pursed my lips as I retreated back to our tent.

I found AJ laying down while browsing through her phone. I laid next to her and placed my right arm around her stomach. She sighed and placed her phone beside her then turned her back at me. She removed my arms from her, "I'm going to sleep."

"AJ, what's wrong?" I asked tugging her shirt. "Why are you acting like this?"

She sighed again and said, "Good night, Kristina."

"Baby, please tell me what's wrong." I insisted as I shake her arm to make her face me.

But she didn't respond, I gave up and stayed silent for the rest of the night until I fell asleep.

The next morning, we packed our things as we head home for the city. The ride back home was awkward but not silent, Sage and Francesca was obviously flirting and I can't help but glare at them. I knew AJ sensed that something was not right. It's one of her greatest talents. Her instincts led her to a successful career and ideas that steered its way to the truth.
