(Francesca's POV)
When you think your day is gonna get worse, think again. It was one in the morning when Kristina woke me up to pack my things. I realized that AJ didn't came home. I kept asking my distracted cousin on the whereabouts of her lover but she was not answering. Kristina and I moved out from the apartment. I didn't understood why at first but I went along with it anyway. The beauty won't talk to me about it, though, she said she will explain later. We then rented a small unit in Manhattan with just one bedroom and an ugly looking kitchen. Well, I guess this was all we can afford right now.
When we were unpacking our things, I noticed my cousin was flabbergasted. I wanted to give her space but the 'curious George' in me came out. So I asked her again. She stopped to think and looked at me strangely. I've never seen her like this before. Her loving gestures seems to have disappeared and the way she was portraying herself was very different. It was like she was in a trance or something. Her familiar teasing smile blossomed. It was scaring me, its as if a dark entity has taken over of my cousin. She hasn't answered any of my questions. Something's wrong.
The sun raised and I woke up for work still feeling a little bit sleepy. I didn't slept well because my roommate kept standing up as she looks outside our foggy window. She was also brushing her hair up while walking back and forth. I promise you, the scene looked disturbing.
When I got up, I found Kristina in the kitchen fixing me some breakfast. She looked back at me with a sudden sweet smile. I swear, this was creeping me out. Last night she was like the undead of the north and now she's the sweet girl from Alabama. I don't get it.
She placed my breakfast on the small wooden dining table together with an orange juice. (Where did she get these? I swear, we only left with our clothes.)
"Did you went out for groceries?" I asked as I take a seat with a puzzled look on my face.
She then sat on another chair with a smile while putting down another plate on the table, she anchored her head on her hand and nodded, "There's a store across the street."
I looked down at my food and nodded as well, "I see." I looked up again and stared at my cousin, "Are you okay? What happened last night? And where's AJ? And seriously, where have you been for two days???"
She looked away then shrugged her shoulders, "Eat your breakfast, Francesca. You're gonna be late for work."
I slammed my hands on the table in irritation, she got startled and gazed on my direction. I crossed my eyebrows, breathing heavily, "What the fuck is wrong with you??? We used to be so open with things like this. Me, Kristina, I was so worried at you! I can't reach your phone! I left you voice messages! Where the fuck were you??? What happened?? Can you just please tell me???", she shook her head as she brushes her hair up. That's where I noticed that her engagement ring was not on her finger, "You broke up with AJ, didn't you? Why?"
She sighed heavily and glared at me, "I don't love her anymore." She raised her feet on the edge of her chair making her legs fold.
I narrowed my eyes at her with a small squint, "What? Y-you don't l-love her anymore? H-how come?"
She responded yet again with an annoying shrug but then she noticed me getting impatient, "If I told you I was cheating on her with someone else, would you believe me?"
Her words were so alarming and it filled me with much contemplation, "Seriously, Kristina... you broke up with AJ for a temporary moment with someone else? That's bullshit! I'm out of here!"
I stood up without even touching my food. I took a quick bath then I changed into my uniform. I was about to leave for work when I suddenly heard my phone rang. My cousin gave me another strange yet nervous look.
