(AJ's POV)

I can still see them clearly inside my head. What was she doing? Kristina's eye contact with that bloody arse bloke still remained mysterious to me. I thought when I proposed, everything's going to be okay. I don't know what's going on. That Sage person is ruining my future with Kristina. I have to do something. She can't have her.

"Dude? Hey... Buddy? HEEEEEY!!!" I snapped out of my thoughts and turned my attention to Jess. She was hissing while shaking her head. "Something bothering you, am I right?" asked Jessie while taking a sip from her new favorite cocktail drink, blue Hawaii.

I looked away and sighed, "What gave it away?" I asked feeling a little bit dizzy from all the alcoholic beverage I drank tonight. My eyes wondered hazily but all I'm seeing was a double bar sign.

"Well, for starters... you've been checking your phone non-stop and you're drunk." Said Jessie scratching her head. I bit my lip as I scrunch my eyebrows. I could still remember the way Kristina looked at Sage. I rubbed my face using both hands and started groaning. "So I guess you saw that too, huh?"

I quickly turned my head to Jessie with wide eyes. She smirked while looking down on her drink, she played with the moist dripping down her glass, "I don't get it, Jess. I love Kristina... but I think she's falling for someone else. I don't what I would do if lose her."

Jessie placed her hand on my shoulder and said, "Hey! Look at me" she gestured, "You are not losing her, okay? Kristina loves you, buddy! Why do you think she said 'yes' when you asked her to marry you? You are an awesome person, AJ and Kristina is so lucky to have you. Don't get yourself worked up with that stupid lookin' lesbian. She's not worth your time."

I nodded while biting the inside skin of my cheek. I know Jessie was only lifting me up but still I can't help but repeat the memory I saw earlier at the 2.0. Sage's hands were locked at Kristina's waist, looking at each other as if they were in a trance of seduction. The devastation of that mockery was painted all over my body. The cold hard stab of jealousy has its way of inviting me to another dimension of agony.

After that scene, Kristina told me that she will head home together with Francesca. I insisted on taking them home but she was reluctant to answer me. She left me confused as my heart felt heavy. I watched her flee together with her cousin to get away from 'someone'. I turned my gaze to Sage and she was already staring back at me with her challenging eyes. She raised her glass to me giving me a sly smile, she then giggled and walked away going to her table. Val was also giving me that intense stare while sharing a laughter with Sage. I almost lost it but Jess took me away and brought me to another bar here in Manhattan to cool down.

"Something's wrong, Jess. I can feel it."

Jessie held up her breath and slowly released it using her mouth, "Then... do something about it. You're AJ Kingsley for crying out loud! You always know what to do! And I promise you, I'll be here for you, buddy! One hundred percent! Let's suit up!"

I chucked when Jess said 'Let's suit up'. I know she got that line from a hit television show series.

The next day, things started to look sunny side up. I got another project for the company and they want Kristina to star in the show. She said yes right away because it was one of her favorite Broadway musical. From that moment on, I felt like we're back on track. We already picked the male lead role to be cast alongside Kristina and the musicians for the whole play. The show was called "Once". It's the show of the year after it has been ceased for how many months. It was making noise all over the city and the Broadway media started to take notice. Rehearsals started and we were busier than ever but at least I get to spend it with the woman I love.
