(Sage's POV)
Two years ago, I was invited to a wedding by two gorgeous ladies. They said that the event will be held in Palmer Mclaren Hotel. Little did they know... I own that hotel. I inherited that place from my mother after she died. I didn't know that years later I will find the same girl who destroyed my family in my territory. I danced with her, shared a glimpse with a hint of flirtatious laughter, and I watched her from afar. She was radiant and sophisticated, different from what I used to see. But still, she was the girl named Zita.
However, there was another you but she's not you. Another Rodriguez showed up in my life. Her sense of well-being defied the monsters that I see. Her ability to cope up with me was incredible. She was able to lift me up whenever sorrow's in the way, I was breathless seeing her here in my world with no boundaries.
My beloved secret... Don't let me say goodbye.

Our exchanges of glares were inevitable, her sensual smile was not intentional but rather it was the smile she was born into. She was trying to fixate every attention she has with a man sitting next to her. I can tell she was being polite as she manage to engage a simple conversation that can leave a wonderful impression.
"I didn't know you were invited here too."
I looked up and saw a familiar face smiling at me while holding up a wine glass on her right hand. She titled her head sideways as she waits for my answer. I knew exactly who she was. A girl in my past that I tried to be monogamous with but I ended up cheating on her.
I looked away and crossed my brows, "Your friends are my friends, and our worlds are not far from each other. We've met different people and different cultures, so why would you be surprised to see me here, Sam?"
She sat beside me and leaned her mouth closer to my ear, "I was just pretending. Do you want to get out of here?" she whispered.
I chuckled sarcastically and eyed her, crossing my arms on my chest, "Hmm... tempting... But no. My eyes are set with someone else." I returned my gaze back at Francesca who was still having a conversation with a man on the far end side of the reception. A smile formed on my lips and sure enough, my beloved secret saw it. I raised my wine glass just enough for her to see it to seal a far-away-tossed. She did the same thing and smiled.
"I think I know her." Said Sam narrowing her eyes at Francesca, "She looks familiar."
"Francesca Rodriguez. You might recognize her from her last name."
"Rodriguez?" Sam stopped to think then finally got it, "Do you know a girl named Kristina? Kristina Rodriguez?"
"She's her cousin. I know her." I said looking away, as I take a sip on my wine. "She's the girl AJ chose to be with, isn't that right Samantha? She's everybody's aim, obsession..."
"That was a long time ago, Sage. Why would you bring that up? Besides, look who's obsessing with a Rodriguez right now?" she stood up and left the reception. My eyes followed her until I can no longer see her. Her sweet scent never disappeared, it was as if she took me back in time when I met her here two years ago. I knew right away what kind of girl I am messing with. She thought she was fickle and indecisive, she thought she could play with the big boys of the century but her ego failed her because she met me. I could always make her do what I wanted her to do without even opening my mouth. Eventually, things fell apart. She couldn't handle me because she couldn't see me. I guess, it was my fault. I was afraid to let her visualize who I really was, she might see through me.
Suddenly, someone snapped me out of my thinking by caressing my face, "You are so distracted."
I looked back and smiled. I stood up and placing my hands in my pocket with eyes bolted at her, "Only because you're beautiful." I said leaning forward to give her a kiss.
