☁️ Cole Owens ☁️
I've been dreading this day since I marked it on my calendar. If anyone could pull something so idiotic it would be my brother Ty. God I'm fuming just waiting outside the airport for his louder than life truck to pick me up. I can't believe I agreed to this. But what other choice did I have?
I'm met with the humid air of Oklahoma as a welcome to hell. These next two weeks were going to test me in ways I have tried to run away from for years. I'm not like Ty. I don't find humor in being reckless. Don't find the need to chase my fears. I live a comfortable life back in San Francisco. My job gives me a safe life.
A truck comes speeding through the pickup bay. "Baby Brother!" He shouts from the driver's side, windows rolled down.
"Ty." I mumble throwing my bag over my shoulder before getting into his ridiculous modified Ram truck.
"The Owens brothers are back in business!" He pats my chest excitedly.
"Let's get one thing straight Ty. I'm only here because you promised if I gave you two weeks you would come home and sign the papers. That's it. Two weeks and then our deal is done."
"God I forget how grumpy you are Coco."
"Don't call me that." I groan clicking my seatbelt in place.
He ruffles my hair laughing to himself. "Whatever you say Coco."
This was going to be the worst two weeks of my life.

We pull up to this run down motel, an old dusty chevy van, rickety Volkswagen Vanagon, and fairly new white Ram truck parked outside one of the rooms. A group of people sitting around in lawn chairs joking and laughing in-between the vehicle's. I knew right away it's Ty's friends. If the rigged vehicles weren't any indication then the hillbilly's sitting around without a care in the world would.
I'll never understand why anyone would want to put their lives in danger. It's one thing to chase tornados and stay back a healthy distance. But my idiot brother and his friends chose to go inside a tornado for something as ridiculous as views on a youtube channel.
We hop out of his truck after parking, walking over to the group of people I suspected where his friends. He starts introducing me to everyone, starting off with Kate. It wasn't lost on me the way they looked at each other, like more than friends. She seemed to have a decent head on her shoulders, so why was she hanging out with my brother?
He goes down the line, Dani, Lilly, Dexter, Boone, and Javi. His eyes scanning the surroundings for something or someone before Kate points behind him. We both turn to see a girl standing in the middle of a dirt field looking up at the sky. Her eyes closed with a faint smile tilting the corner of her lips. At first glance anyone could see she was beauitful. Almost too beauitful.
"Becks!" Ty shouts cupping his hands around his mouth to help heighten the volume of his voice. She turns around meeting his gaze before turning her pools of honey on me. My breath catching for a moment stunned.
She checks the street for any signs of cars passing before jogging over towards us. "Quincy Beck this is my brother Cole Owens.....Cole meet Becks our resident genius tornado tamer."
I scoff at the idea of taming a tornado. Are they serious?
"What's so funny Cole?" Her perfectly shaped brow raises curiously.
"You're not much of a genius if you actually believe you can tame a tornado."
Ty groans beside me, deciding to walk over towards Kate and the rest of his groupies. Leaving me alone with her.
