A few days after everyone had sort of settled, Blue decided to pick up on learning Spanish as they simultaneously looked for someone to teach the kids English. So far, he knew some Spanish from the books he read, such as patatas meaning potatoes, tortilla meaning omelette, and pollo meaning chicken.
With two kids who only spoke Spanish, it became crucial for him to learn the language seriously.
Ink preferred to learn information instead of gain abilities. He could listen to Blue infodump about riddles for ages, while Ink himself would create something, and despite his hands being busy, he would even add his own stuff to the infodump, but that didn't mean he was particularly interested in actually learning how he could give someone a good riddle.
And another thing, if Ink doesn't immediately know how to do something, he gives up. Even if his art has constantly improved, he was originally created for art, already giving him the creativity and ability.
That being said, if he doesn't at least partially know something, he gives up on learning it.
It was a mindset that reminded Blue of other Sanses. Even Blue's younger brother was less lazy.
That being said, Ink pronounced a few words wrong and then claimed he had a very important thing he just HAD to do right now.
So he was alone in learning Spanish. He felt too awkward talking to the others, except maybe Horror, who seemed oddly resistant to the idea of learning anything.
Well, at least in terms of his team being there, he was alone. He did have someone else with him.
Cross, who had insisted on coming with Blue in search of more information on learning languages. Not that he really needed to, he just wanted to find something interesting to read.
Cross, who had at one point stood above Blue, one arm pinned under his boot, aiming for his head with his sword.
Cross, who had promised to change.
Blue will, hopefully, get used to this.
But so far, he felt like everything he was reading was going in through one eye and out through the other.
Cross was looking through books, showing them to Blue with increasing hesitation.
So far, all of the ones he'd picked were too hard for Blue, and he was starting to think that the 'experience' Blue gloated about having wasn't actually much at all. He wondered where he learnt it, that he didn't even know what 'trabajar' meant.
So he figured he would grab one for little kids, since Blue was insisting on being childish instead of admitting he had no experience.
"This one is actually...understandable!"
Blue sat in silence for a bit, reading the book pages. The cartoon characters on the pages seemed a bit patronising, and Cross was absolutely horrible at keeping quiet.
"Cross, could you-"
Blue saw the expression on Cross's face. He knew it too well, so he immediately recognized it as mockery. He closed the book, trying to find the reason for Cross' expression.
'Easy Spanish for Children'
He looked at Cross, then back at the book. Cross snickered.
Blue smacked Cross with the book.
He put the book back into the shelf it came from, and they went back to looking at the books they had been looking at until now. Cross picked up a book, showed it to Blue. Blue stared at the cover, deducing that it wasn't for babybones, and grabbed it, and looked at the first page.
