"I'm not saying don't date the guy, I'm just saying take it slow."
June walks with Elena and Bonnie, her eyes looking down at the dark skinned girl with skepticism and amusement. "I don't think she can take it any slower than she already is," the brunette comments.
Elena rolls her eyes, "you both said I should go for it. I am, just at my own pace."
"Well, now I'm saying take it slow," Bonnie avoids her eyes.
"Why the about-face?"
"It's not an about-face," the Bennett denies. "You're single for the first time in your entire high school career. It's the perfect time to try to field."
Elena scoffs out a laugh, "I'm not Addy, Bonnie, I don't try out the field."
June glares at her sister, "where's this narrative coming from? I've never even had a boyfriend."
Elena rolls her eyes and ignores her sisters questions, obviously intent on finding out he root to Bonnie's doubt. "Seriously, what are you not saying?"
Bonnie sighs, "it's stupid."
"Bonnie..."
"What?"
"Spit it out," June presses. "You even have me curious."
"I accidentally touched Stefan," she admits wearily. "I got a really bad feeling."
"Is that it?" Elena laughs, "Bonnie!"
"It was bad," the girl expresses, her eyes frantic. June gazes at her curiously, intrigue settling into the depths of her chest. She'd have to ask Bonnie about this later in a more serious manner. The Bennett doesn't get panicked lightly, so the Gilbert's curious on what she felt.
"Is this the whole witch mojo thing again?" The oldest Gilbert twin wonders.
"You know what? I'm just concerned. This is me expressing concern about my best friend's new boyfriend."
"I love you for it, I do, but I feel good. It's been a hard year, and I'm starting to kind of feel like things are getting back to normal again, and you know what? Stefan is a big part of that." Elena pauses and huffs when she realizes Bonnie's not buying her bit.
Before either of the two other girls can say anything, the topic of the conversation idles up to them with a charming smile gracing his lips. His hands are shoved into his jean pockets and he shuffles closer to Elena, grinning down at her. "Good morning, Elena. Good morning, June, Bonnie."
"Hey," Bonnie casts her eyes downward. "I have to find Caroline, she's not answering her phone. So, I'll see you guys later."
June frowns at the mention of Caroline not answering her phone. It's not like her to be late for school or to ignore her friends. It casts a shadow of worry in June's stomach, recalling the text the blonde sent about getting lucky and bringing a man home with her the prior night. She looks at Elena and begins to speak but Stefan unknowingly cuts her off, a frown gracing his lips.
"She doesn't like me very much," he comments.
"She doesn't know you," Elena corrects him with a wide smile. "She's my best friend, she's just looking out for me. With June out of commission, someone has to."
"I never said I was out of commission," June argues, offended by the statement. "I just didn't have time for that particular situation last night."
Elena scoffs out a laugh before shaking her head, returning her gaze back to her boyfriend. "Once Bonnie gets to know you, she'll love you, I promise." She pauses and contemplates for a long second before getting visibly excited, "here's what we're going to do! Are you free tonight?"
