"You ready?" Aurora asks as I finish tying up my shoelaces, taking a deep breath.
"Yep, I think so." I say, grabbing my handbag before we both leave our dorm room.
We're both going Christmas shopping today since we've only got a couple of weeks until it'll be too late to get anything. We've only got a few days of school left before the holidays, and I'm really excited since Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
I haven't asked Scar and Lizzie what they're doing over Christmas yet, but I've been meaning to. I would love nothing more than to spend the time with them but I'm not sure whether they'll be visiting their families or anything.
I still want to get them both something special, which is why we're going shopping today. Aurora also wants to get something for Harry too, I'll just have to go out and get her present another time so that she isn't there when I buy it.
"Any idea on what you want to get them?" She asks as we both walk down the street.
"Not sure. I mean I just want to get something special, but I don't exactly know what." I answer.
"It might be a little too soon so I'm not sure if you wanted to, but what about promise rings?"
I think for a moment before speaking, "But what if it is too soon? What if they're not thinking about anything in the future?"
"I'm sure that if they were uncomfortable with it, they'd talk to you about it. You guys honestly have the best communication ever, I'm jealous." Aurora chuckles.
"I could maybe try that." I tell her.
-----
We've been in the shopping mall for about an hour, since we both got distracted buying some clothes and we've looked in a few shops for gifts. I've got a few presents already, but I really want to make everything as special for them as I can.
"There's a jewelry shop there if you want to have a look." Aurora says.
"Yeah, sure. Do you wanna go buy Harry something whilst I'm in here, I might take a while." I ask.
"Yeah, I'll meet you back here when I'm done." She says, "Don't overthink it, I'm sure they'll love anything that you get them."
I nod, walking into the shop and clutching onto my bag tightly. I walk over to the ring section, my eyes widening as I look at the vast selection of jewelry they have.
I don't want anything too fancy, because I feel like that might be too much in a way. But I definitely want something that I know they'll like.
I stand there for a few minutes before moving forward to take a closer look. My eyes immediately fall upon a silver ring with a green gemstone embedded into it, reminding me almost instantly of the colour of Lizzie's eyes. It's perfect for her.
I open the cabinet and pick it up in my hands, staring down at it. It looks beautiful, and it honestly reminds me so much of her. I hold it tightly in my hand, closing the cabinet as my eyes wander over the rest of the rings.
As I look to the furthest cabinet, I notice another silver ring, but this time with a black diamond embedded into it. I smile as I think of Scar, the ring reminding me of her so much. I hold both of the rings in the palm of my hand, gazing at them both as tears fill the corners of my eyes.
"Oh wow, they really are pretty." Somebody says behind me, making me jump. I hold the rings tightly in my hand, letting out a soft chuckle as Aurora appears behind me.
"You made me jump." I breathed out.
"I noticed." She laughs, "I was wondering why you were taking so long in here. I think they'll both love them."
"You think?"
"They're perfect. I might get Harry one for his birthday next year actually, it's a pretty cute idea." She says.
I walk over to the cashier, quickly paying for both of the rings before putting the two boxes in my bag. I smile to myself, picturing their faces when they open these presents some time over the next few weeks. I really hope they like them.
-----
Me and Aurora got home a few hours ago, and we're currently in our bedroom wrapping up some of the presents. I've wrapped up both of the rings, using a different wrapping paper for each of their presents so that I don't get muddled up.
I also got Lizzie some stuff for her garden, since I know she loves to grow food and I bought a few CDs for Scar since she likes to collect them. I've also got some other gifts for each of them as well, but they're mostly quite small because I spent a fair amount of money on the rings.
"You alright over there?" I chuckle, noticing that Aurora seems to be having a bit of a difficult time wrapping up these presents.
"How on earth do you do it so perfectly?" She sighs, sitting back and leaning against the wall.
"Let me show you." I laugh, leaning over and quickly showing her how to wrap one of the presents. It takes me about thirty seconds to wrap it, and afterwards she just stares at me with a confused look on her face.
"I still don't understand but I'll give it a try." She says, "Do you wanna order some food?"
I freeze for a moment before carrying on with wrapping my presents, "I'm not really too hungry right now."
"Izzy, you haven't eaten anything all day. You can get something small, I just don't want you to get sick." Aurora says in a serious tone, and I let out a sigh.
"Fine, something small. What were you thinking?" I ask.
"Pizza? They do kids sized ones if you want, or a small one has a few more slices."
I pause for a moment before answering, "I can try and eat a small one."
"And if you don't want to finish it, I know somebody who will." She winks at me, making me let out a small laugh as I roll my eyes.
By time we both finish with the presents, we hear a knock on the door, telling us that our food must be here. I tidy everything up whilst Aurora goes and answers the door before I sit on my bed, turning on the TV.
"God, this smells so fucking good." She says, passing me my food before sitting on her bed with hers.
"What do you feel like watching?" I ask, flicking through the movies on the TV.
"I honestly don't mind, you can pick."
We both eventually just decide on watching youtube, spending some time relaxing after our day of getting everything together. As nervous as I am to ask them about it, I really do want to spend Christmas with my girls.
And if I do, I cannot wait for it.
