*Elizabeth's P.O.V*
The dress has many layers of fabric that are light, but built on top of each other perfectly to create volume. It is sometimes white and silver, and other times the dress is closer to blue and turquoise under the right lighting. It has a wide skirt, tight sleeves, a nipped-in waist, and rounded shoulders, with a voluminous skirt that looks weightless. It also glitters just right so I swear I see sparkling dust surrounding me as I sway and twirl in it. It feels like it was made just for me and hidden away so no one else but me could find it!
Even the staff work extra hard to get me fully princessed out before I'm allowed to step out to show mommy it. They even found me a tiara and everything! When I do finally step out, it makes it all worth it to see mommy stop mid sentence and just stare at me amazed. She even covers her mouth with her hand and looks on the verge of tears!
"Well... I don't think anything I say is going to allow me to keep that dress now. You, my dear child, seem to be made for that dress but they did a couple things wrong. Come with me..." Naomi says, taking my hand in hers and leading me back into the changing area.
Once there, she finds a lightweight crinoline cage and strips me out of the dress before putting it on me. Then she finds a petticoat that has many, many, many layers of tulle netting fabric and puts that on me before putting the dress back on and taking me to a mirror to stare in wonder. The skirt's so... so big now! It looks so full and just so much fun to move in as it just flows like a watercolor painting! It's truly perfect now and I never not want to wear it!
I spin around in a small circle, admiring myself over and over again. I couldn't help myself, I just looked so pretty. I spin until I'm dizzy, giggling when Naomi has to grab me so that I don't fall down onto my bottom.
"You're very pretty. How about we go show your Mommy now?" Naomi offers, making me nod my head. The tiara in my hair nearly falls out but I grab it at the last second and hold it into place. Naomi fixes it for me and grabs my hand, leading me back to Mommy.
Mommy's eyes are filled with tears when she sees me, ones that she tries to blink away. She holds out her hands to me and I hurry over to her, doing a small spin for her before she takes my hands.
"Well aren't you just the prettiest thing in the world?" Mommy asks gently, giving me a small twirl. She's lucky I've recovered from how dizzy I was or else she might be cleaning up my throw up. She messes with the fabric, as if adjusting it and also taking the opportunity to feel the fabric as she fixes it.
"Mommy, I get?" I ask hesitantly, wanting to double check that she would actually let me get this dress. I couldn't think of a reason why she wouldn't let me but I wanted to double check. If she said no then I wouldn't know what to do. My tummy twisted at the mere thought of being told no.
"Of course darling," Mommy says, wiping her eyes before pulling me close. She covers my face in kisses, leaving me confused and also happy. I really did enjoy her kisses, she was always so gentle and her affection was never something I would turn down.
"I wish your mama was here to see this. She would just find you absolutely adorable. Just look at you! Looking just like my little princess! How could she not?" Mommy asks as she lifts me up, sitting me on her lap. I snuggle into her, content to just let her hold me.
"Are you happy with this darling? I did promise you dresses and you have them now. And we're running a bit behind to be at the reunion on time. And I do hate being late," Mommy says, standing up after a moment. It's a struggle for her to hold me with all the layers of fabric but that was her own fault for getting me such a puffy dress.
"They're all boring! Just want to spend time with you," I say honestly, earning a soft smile from her.
"As much as I adore hearing that, they are family and unfortunately for you, they're family that we get along with...most of the time," Mommy says, making me huff slightly.
"You get along with them, not me," I pout slightly at her.
"Yes but how else will everyone see you in your new pretty dress?" Mommy asks, making me stick my bottom lip out in a dramatic pout.
"Oh that would be wonderful, I would love to hear what other people think of this little princess," Naomi says in response for me, making my cheeks flush. I bury my face into Mommy's neck, trying to hide my embarrassment.
"Not a princess," I mutter, since that is the truth. I wasn't a princess! I hadn't been a princess in a long time. I was the queen and she should know that automatically and not call me a princess.
"You're right. You're the prettiest princess," Mommy says, turning my face towards her so that she can kiss my cheek. I huff slightly at her words, burying my face into her neck again so that she can't embarrass me further.
She chuckles softly at that, turning her attention to Naomi as she talks to her about the price of the dresses. I try not to focus on that, not wanting to think about how much money Mommy had spent on me today.
"Meanie," I mumble as Mommy pats my back, carrying me to the counter so she can pay. I try not to think of how many new dresses I'm going to have as I know that means I'll definitely have to get rid of some old ones to make room. Or I could just get a bigger closet. Maybe I could even turn her old bedroom into my closet? I liked the idea of that a lot better!
