*Elizabeth's P.O.V*
Nana had no problem with wrapping me up in a tight bear hug, squeezing me almost as tightly as Auntie did. I snuggle into her as best as I can, happy to be in her arms after so long. I mean I wasn't being picked up like I had originally wanted but I suppose I would take what I could get.
"Oh little Bethy, you've gotten so big," Nana says as she pulls back, cupping my face to admire it. She coos slightly, covering my face in kisses which earns a giggle of protest from me. I couldn't believe she was covering me in kisses like this, like I was some little baby still.
"Nana," I say, my cheeks darkening. I felt so embarrassed, the fact she had done it in front of other people not helping. Even if they were family, I didn't want to be babied like that in front of them.
"What is it?" Nana asks as she leans back to inspect me, letting go of my face to grab my hand and force me to do a small twirl for her. I whine slightly, my face burning as I try not to look at anyone before Nana pulls me back into another hug.
"Oh you look gorgeous. So darling," Nana says as she smiles at me, resting her chin on top of my head as I burrow my face into her neck to try and hide from the embarrassment that she was causing me.
"I missed you a lot too Nana," I murmur as she rubs my back, kissing the top of my head.
"I have missed you more than you could ever imagine my darling girl. You mean the world to me and I'm so happy you managed to visit. You did want to come visit right? Your mother didn't force you, did she?" Nana asks as she tilts my chin up so that I'm looking at her.
"Noooo, she didn't force me. I wanted to come see you. I missed you a whole lot. Wanted to see you," I assure her, pouting slightly at her thinking that Mommy would have to force me to come visit her.
"You did? That's wonderful darling. I worry about you. All alone in that castle of yours. Sure you have those guards of yours but they don't know how to take care of you like Nana does," Nana says as she cups my cheek, her thumb brushing across it.
"Are you going to hog her all night?" Uncle Jameson calls from across the room, chuckling when Nana gives him the dirtiest look that she can muster.
"She's my granddaughter, you would do well to wait your turn young man," Nana threatens as she wags her finger at him, making me giggle. I loved how offended she got at the mere notion of sharing me.
"You'll spoil her more than she already is," Mommy says as she comes up behind me, making me jump as she leans around me to give Nana a one armed hug.
"Hello baby, I'm glad you made it," Nana says as she kisses Mommy's cheek, smiling slightly as she tugs Mommy closer to hug her even tighter. I can tell Mommy finds it slightly amusing seeing as she's normally the one hugging people like that.
"I always do. It just took some convincing to get Bethy to agree to come, she's so big now she thinks she's too good for these family events," Mommy says, rolling her eyes. I give her an upset look when she does that, stomping my foot slightly.
"Nu uh! That's not true," I argue, going quiet when Nana draws me back into her arms.
"Oh I'm sure it's not darling, I know you would never think such a thing about our family," Nana assured me as she kisses the top of my head, adjusting my bow so that it sat better on my head. It had come a little looser with all the excitement.
"Mommy's lying, she's being mean Nana," I whisper into Nana's arm, earning a small chuckle from Nana.
"I know darling, she's in a lot of trouble for daring to say things about my precious little granddaughter," Nana promises me, keeping her arms wrapped around me as I turn around to look at Mommy. I stick my tongue out slightly, squealing when Nana swats my hip lightly.
"Don't stick your tongue out, don't forget your manners Elizabeth," Nana says, making me pout slightly. She wasn't supposed to know that I was doing such a thing! She was supposed to be oblivious to any of my naughtiness like all good nanas were.
"Don't have manners, Nana never taught me," I say dramatically, squealing when Nana pokes my side slightly. I jump away from her, looking at her with a small huff.
"I know for a fact that I certainly taught you some manners so I think you should keep that in mind little miss," Nana says as I huff. She didn't have to correct me, she was supposed to play along.
"Auntie," I go straight back to Auntie, letting her lift me up into her arms. She wasn't Nana but at this point I just needed someone to be on my side for once. No one else wanted to be on my side it seemed.
"Oh goodness, have you gotten skinnier? You feel like bones little one," Auntie says as she rubs my back, letting me snuggle into her the best I can. I did love her snuggles, they were so great most of the time. She knew just how to hold me and didn't even tease me like Mommy did.
"I eat! I'm just small," I grumble as I hide my face against Auntie.
"Has she eaten today Mia?" Auntie asks Mommy, completely ignoring me in favor of asking mean old mommy a question.
"She ate breakfast before we left but this is normally about the time she would eat lunch," Mommy says, making me huff.
"I don't want lunch. Don't eat it most of the time," I grumble, hiding my face against Auntie's shoulder as she adjusts me on her hip.
