CHAPTER NINETEEN.
_____________"and you can want who you want"
- welcome to new york, taylor swift
_____________Just as promised, thirty minutes passed and a knock was heard at the door. Adelaide, who had slightly sobered up by that point, jumped up to get the door. "I'll get it," she announced, hurrying down the hall and opening the door to see one Chris Evans standing holding three bottles of wine.
"You're amazing," she smiled at him, pulling him in for a hug and planting a light kiss on his cheek.
"I forgot to ask which kind so I got white, pink, and red." He held them up and scrunched his nose as she pulled away from him.
"That's fine," Addie laughed, opening the door for him to enter. "You can take your shoes off if you want to, unless you aren't planning to stay long," she told him, offering to take the bottles from him.
"Uhm, you know what," he handed her a bottle. "I think I'll have a glass myself," he chuckled, "might as well help lessen the supply."
"Great, I'll grab you a glass," she took the other two bottles from his grasp and shut the door, locking it. "Chris is trying to get us hammered," she announced, as she entered the sitting room.
"Off moscato?" Scarlett asked, her eyebrow raised as she eyed the wine.
"I got the good stuff, trust me," Chris replied, following behind Addie.
"Okay," Scarlett said, sounding unbelieving.
"Besides, if I have a glass or two of this, I wouldn't feel it, so I figured it'd be safe," he said with a shrug.
"Also," Lizzie started, "Remember we've already gone through a bottle of Chardonnay and two bottles of Moscato."
"Wow," Chris said, "You guys are going to feel like shit tomorrow," he laughed.
"Yeah, well Addie's the lightweight," Lizzie chuckled.
"Hey," Addie said from the kitchen as she opened the first bottle and poured a glass for Chris. "You're just jealous."
"Yeah," Lizzie frowned. "But it's fine I'm not too far behind you most times."
"Have you guys just been bickering all night?" Chris asked, accepting the glass from Adelaide with a quiet thank you.
"Not all night?" Scarlett said, holding her glass up for Addie to refill. "But I could've sworn Ava and Lizzie were going to commit murder right in front of me about an hour ago."
This peaked Chris' interest, and he raised an eyebrow to Addie, who now stood next to him, both of them leaning against the kitchen bar.
"She wanted to text Jessie," Ava said, clear disdain in her voice as she rolled her eyes.
"Oh my god, I'm not doing this again," Addie rubbed her temples. "He's not even my friend, you don't have to worry about anything."
"I think honestly, like I said in Germany, you're an adult. And I'll support your choices," Lizzie said, nearly draining her full glass. "This stuff is so good, I love a good sweet wine."
