"Happy one month on set, Addie," Lizzie beamed as she snuck up behind Adelaide, who had just finished with wardrobe.
"I hate how tight this suit is," Addie breathed, pulling at the latex that stuck against her skin like tape.
"Yeah," Lizzie breathed out, feeling her own outfit. "You get used to it."
"Hey, Addie, are we doing anything tonight?" Scarlett asked as she joined the group, also dressed in what Addie could only imagine to be uncomfortable as well.
"Uhm," Addie tried to think up an excuse for not going out with the group, as she already had plans with an unliked 'friend' of hers. "No, I have plans already, but I'm free tomorrow," she smiled sweetly at Scarlett, scared to face Lizzie.
"Ads, if you have a date with Jessie, you can just tell us," Elizabeth said, seeing right through the girl. Ironic.
"It's not a date," Addie groaned, throwing her head back, aggravated. "I do not want to date him," she told them firmly.
"Okay," Lizzie said, and put her hands up in surrender.
"Well I hope you have a good time," Scarlett smiled to her, and they continued chatting about what Scarlett and Elizabeth would do that night, unbeknownst to the conversation just across the set.
"Can I ask you something and get an honest answer?" Anthony said, patting Chris in the back as they awaited the director to call them for their scene.
"Sure," Chris shrugged, wary of the next words to leave his friend's mouth.
"Adelaide," Anthony said, watching as Chris' face scrunched slightly. "I have my answer," he chuckled, looking out across the open set to where she seemed checked out of the conversation around her, zoning off.
"What do you mean? You didn't even ask a question," Chris raised an eyebrow, a nervousness creeping into his stomach.
"I didn't have to, man, I see how you look at her," Anthony watched as Chris' eyes trailed back to the girl in question. "If you're going to do something, do it soon. You know her ex is trying to swoop back in, and that girl screams second chance."
"What do you mean by that?" Chris shook his gaze off Addie and faced Anthony.
"You know as well as I do that she sees the good in people. The way she gets so defensive when someone mentions him isn't a good sign for you, Chris." Anthony sighed. "She's going to end up giving him a second chance if you don't do something."
"No, I don't want to do anything, Anthony," Chris said, running a careful hand through his hair.
"What don't you want to do?" Sebastian asked, joining the conversation.
"I told him I don't really feel like doing anything tonight," Chris replied quickly, shooting Anthony a look.
"I was actually going to ask you too, Sebastian, I just ran into Chris first," Anthony said, giving Chris a discreet nod. "Are you free tonight?"
"Yeah, I am." Sebastian smiled. "And I'm feeling some drinks."
"Agreed," Anthony smiled, turning to look at Chris. "Are you sure you don't want to join us?"
"Maybe some other time, I'm already feeling exhausted," he smiled, and the bell rang, calling the cast to the director.
