BIANCA FLORES could vividly remember November 6th, 1983. How could she forget? It was the last day she lived a normal life. The last day Hawkins would ever be the simple small town it once was. The last day of a true childhood.
Flash forward to March 1986, Hawkins was nowhere near what it used to be. The field she and the party used to play in as kids was dying by the second. The school that her sister had spent the last four years dominating was now a shelter. Her street was split in half for Christ's sake.
And right now, Upside Down particles were falling from the sky, right outside the window of Max's hospital room. A part of Bianca was hoping this was a sick trick, just her mind punishing her for not being here for the fight, but alas, no matter how many times she blinked, the scene before her remained the same.
"Lucas, call the others."
"Does Hopper's cabin even have phone service?"
"Shit, good point," Bianca sighs, before glancing at her bookbag.
Swiftly, she grabs the walkie-talkie, hoping one of them had theirs within reach. "Guys, anybody there?"
After a few seconds of nothing, she lets out a breath of frustration, reaching for the phone to call the school.
"Who are you calling?"
"The school. Someone will pick up."
"Why do you know the number to the school?"
"I know every number," she shrugs, picking the phone up.
It rings for a few long moments, eventually being picked up by a female voice. "Hello?"
"Hi, this is gonna sound very weird, but is Samantha Flores there?"
"She checked in about an hour ago. Why?"
"I'm her sister. I really need to talk to her. It's an emergency."
"Just a moment."
"Hello?" Sam picks up the phone, still staring out the windows.
"Sam!"
"Yes?"
"Are you seeing the same thing we're seeing?"
"The sky? Yeah, what do you think it means?"
"Vecna's awake."
"Of course. Well, what do we do? Should we all meet up? Make a plan."
"No, we don't know enough to make a plan. Plus, right now, it's just particles, right? Annoying, but not danger-" she attempts to reason but gets cut off by a bellowing scream in the hospital.
