THE GROUP, minus Eddie, who was instructed to stay as hidden as possible, ends up at a phone booth on Main Street.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"Oh my God," Dawn puts on an obnoxious accent, sounding just like some of the PTA moms. "There's a riot going on near that movie theater on Main. Something about that cult leader everyone's looking for. Eddie Munson, I think his name is?"
"Ma'am, you see Eddie Munson?"
"I don't know, but you better hurry. I think- Oh my god!"
"Ma'am?"
"I think I just saw something floating in the air. My god, this town really is cursed. Just hurry and get to Main."
"Sure ma'am. Don't fret," the respondent assures, and Dawn hangs up.
"Um, no one is gonna believe that," Jonathan frowns.
"No one in Hawkins," Robin argues. "But a few government agents in the know? They'll check it out."
"She's right. They listen in on all the calls. They'll come and quickly, so let's go," Hopper explains, rallying them back in the cars.

Surely enough, Nancy drives down Maple Street to see all of the vans gone, having followed the tip.
Sam high fives Dawn, who smirks at the revelation. "Years of crank calls were worth something, right?"
"Your delinquency disturbs me," Hopper deadpans.
"Missed you too, Hop," she retorts, parking in the Flores' driveway.
Nancy gets out of the station wagon, sneaking into her basement with Dustin, who shines his flashlight on the dark room.
"We need to be quick. I'm sure my parents are already freaking out."
"I didn't even think of that," he looks up.
"Just- Where did you put the letters?"
"Here," he grabs the stack from the shelf above the couch.
"Okay, let's-" he begins to open the door, just as Ted Wheeler walks outside.
"Window," Nancy points to the window on the other side, facing away from the front yard.
They shimmy out of it as quickly as they can, despite Dustin taking forever, and lean against the house, trying to catch their breath.
Nancy then peers around the corner, watching as her father puts out his cigarette, going back inside.
"So much for freaking out," she mutters, waving Dustin back over to the cars.
"How long does it take to get a few letters?" Steve scolds.
