*In my room*
"Nothing has changed here," I say looking at the room, a bit nostalgic. Anna smiles and says, "Yep, everything's the same. Even your feelings for him, aren't they?"I give her a look and say, "Can we not talk about that? Why worry about something I can't change?"She sighs but understands. "If you want, I could go and tell him right now," she says, half-serious.But I shake my head, "No, it's not his fault. You can't force someone to love you. Everyone has their own choices. I just want to keep my distance so I don't get hurt again."Anna nods, agreeing with my decision. Then she looks at me and says, "By the way, you've gotten even more beautiful. You're absolutely glowing."I laugh, appreciating her compliment. "Says the most beautiful lady herself."We both laugh, and after a while, Anna leaves to go home.
After some time My mom comes into my room to help me unpack and set up my things, and we chat for a bit longer before she heads back to her room. Finally, exhausted from the long day, I fall into bed and drift off to sleep, feeling a mix of emotions-relief, joy, and just a little bit of anxiety about what lies ahead.
The next morning, I wake up, get freshened up, and head downstairs for breakfast. After eating, I go back upstairs to get ready because Anna and I have plans to go out for lunch and explore the city. Once I'm ready, I come downstairs and see that Anna is already waiting outside in her car. I quickly head out and get into the car.
"You're here a bit early," she teases with a smile.
"Sorry for being late," I apologize, though it's clear we're both in a good mood. We drive off, chatting as we go.
Anna stops the car in front of a restaurant, and we go inside to have lunch. The food is incredibly delicious, just as we'd hoped. Afterward, we decided to visit the park we used to go to as kids. We find a spot to sit, enjoying the gentle breeze that softly brushes through our hair. The peaceful atmosphere brings back a flood of memories, and we start talking about everything and nothing.
Suddenly, Anna's phone rings-it's her boyfriend calling. Back when I was in London, she had mentioned one day that she was dating someone, but I hadn't asked much about him at the time. Now, as she talks to him on the phone, I can see how happy she looks. After a few minutes, she hangs up, and I can't resist asking, "So, what's your boyfriend's name?"
"James," she replies, smiling.
"What does he look like? What's his nature like? You're happy with him, right?" I ask, curious to know more about the guy who has captured my best friend's heart.
She laughs softly. "He's very handsome, and his nature is just as great. I'm really happy with him, so don't worry about me. You should focus on yourself."
Ignoring her comment about me, I press on. "You haven't introduced him to me yet. I want to see him too."
Anna gives me a playful look. "You've already seen him."
Confused, I frowned. "What do you mean? How could I have seen him already?"
She smiles and says, "You've known him for a long time. He's Zayden's friend-the one who used to always hang out with him at school."
I suddenly remember the guy she's talking about-the one who was always with Zayden back in school. "Oh, so his name is James," I say, a bit surprised. "Did you always like him?"
Anna nods slightly. "Maybe, but he was the one who proposed to me first, and I said yes."
I smile at her. "Well, he seems like a good guy."
She grins and agrees, her happiness evident.
I asked her, "But why didn't you tell me that you liked him?"
