*Zayden's POV*

After finishing all my work and the long, busy day at the office, I finally head home. As soon as I walk in, my mom calls me for dinner. I sit down with my mom and dad, and we enjoy our meal together. During dinner, my dad asks me about the deal we had today. I tell him that we successfully secured the deal, mentioning how impressive their work was. My dad smiles proudly and says, "You’ve brought our company to the number one spot after so many years. I’m so proud of you."

I respond, "It’s been a collective effort, Dad. Everyone in the company worked hard to get us here." Thanking him for his words, I then head back to my room.

After freshening up and taking a shower, I return to my room and lie down on my bed. As I close my eyes, the events of the day start replaying in my mind—the moment when we entered the company, and later, when we waited in the meeting room with my team.

Suddenly, the door opened, and the CEO of the other company, along with their team, entered the room. Albertin came over to me and extended his hand, greeting me. I stood up and greeted him back. Then, Albertin turned to introduce me to his secretary, and I turned with him.

The moment I laid eyes on the person standing next to him, something strange began to stir inside me—something I had never felt before. It was an odd sensation, a feeling that I couldn’t quite place. She was dressed in formal attire, yet she looked so elegant and beautiful. Her face was soft and sweet, with minimal makeup, just enough to enhance her natural beauty.

She was simple, yet somehow, she seemed perfect to me. Her eyes were incredibly beautiful, filled with innocence, the kind that you could easily get lost in. Her hair was tied back in a neat ponytail, with a few strands falling delicately over her face. Despite the simplicity of her hairstyle, she looked stunning.

I had never seen a girl like her before. I’ve met many women, but they all wore heavy makeup and flashy dresses, trying to win my attention. Yet, none of them had ever caught my interest. But this girl, with her simplicity, was different. She stirred something deep within me, something even I couldn’t understand.

When she introduced herself, saying, "My name is Emyrin, and I’m the secretary here," her voice was as sweet and soft as her appearance. I couldn’t help but think to myself how lovely her voice was, the kind you could listen to all day, or that anyone would want to hear. I greeted her in return.

At that moment, James entered the meeting room and, upon seeing Emyrin, said, "It’s nice to meet you again." Albertin then asked James, "Do you know Emyrin from before?"

James replied, "Yes, very well." This left me confused and wondering how James knew her.

Our meeting started, and Emyrin began her presentation. I was genuinely impressed by her work, thinking how intelligent she must be. Throughout the entire meeting, I found myself unable to take my eyes off her. The more I looked at her, the more it felt like I had seen her somewhere before.

Suddenly, our eyes met, and my heart skipped a beat. I noticed her expression, and as soon as our gazes locked, she quickly looked away. Her face seemed flustered, as if she had been caught off guard.

The meeting eventually came to an end, and we finalized the deal. At the last moment, I walked over to Emyrin and told her, "I’m very interested in working with you on this project."

With those words, we left the company and headed back.

Thinking about all of this, I eventually drift off to sleep, the day’s events swirling in my mind as I finally close my eyes.

*Emyrin's POV*

The next day, I wake up, go through my morning routine, and start getting ready for the office. As I’m getting dressed, it suddenly hits me that today, we have a meeting with The Davies Corporation—or more specifically, with Zayden. We’re supposed to go to their company to discuss and share information about the project. The thought of having to face him again makes me nervous, but I tell myself that I’ll just focus on work and try to ignore him. After having breakfast, I head out to the office with Anna.

On the way, Anna asks me, "So, you're going to their company today, right?" I look at her, surprised, and ask, "How do you know that?" She grins and says, "James told me." I just nod, and she teases me playfully, "It's going to be fun! Aren’t you excited to meet Zayden again?" I chuckle lightly and reply, "Excited? Far from it. I’m more scared about how I’ll even talk to him." She laughs and says, "Well, I’m excited for you!"

Soon, we arrive at my office, and she drops me off before heading to her own. I enter the office and start working in my cabin. After a while, my boss calls me to his office and says that we’ll be leaving for the meeting in 10 minutes. I nod and tell him, "Okay," before returning to my work.

Ten minutes later, we arrive at The Davies Corporation. As soon as I see their office building, I’m taken aback by its grandeur and beauty. It’s no wonder they’re the second-largest company in the world. My CEO and a few of our team members enter the building with me, and we wait in the meeting room for the others to arrive.

Soon, Zayden enters the room with James and a few other workers. The moment I look in his direction, I realize that he’s already looking at me. Quickly, I shift my gaze to James and greet him along with my boss. James greets me, saying, "Hi, Emyrin," and I respond, "Hi, James." Then, I notice Zayden walking towards me. "Glad to see you again, Ms. Emyrin," he says, his voice sending a strange warmth through me. I manage to reply, "Me too, sir."

The meeting begins, and we all sit down to discuss the project in front of our CEOs. At one point, James asks a question about the project, and I answer him. He nods in understanding and says, "Now I get it, that’s a good plan." We continue the discussion, but throughout the entire meeting, I can feel someone’s gaze on me—Zayden’s. He’s been watching me since the meeting started, but I don’t look at him even once, focusing instead on the discussion.

After the meeting ends, James says, "This is a great plan, Emyrin. How are you so intelligent?" I just smile and respond modestly, "It’s nothing, really. I just want our project to be successful, James."

As we get ready to leave, my CEO and team members exit the room first, leaving just me, James, and Zayden behind. I start gathering the files to leave as well, but Zayden calls my name, making me turn to face him. Just then, James receives a phone call and steps out of the room, leaving Zayden and me alone. A strange tension fills the air between us.

Zayden walks closer to me, and I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, but I try to stay calm. I ask him, "Is there something you need, sir?" He looks at me intently and says, "Your ideas were really good." I smile slightly and reply, "Thank you, sir. I’m glad you liked my plan."

He steps even closer now, and there’s barely any distance left between us. I can feel his breath on my skin, sending a wave of unfamiliar sensations through my body. My stomach twists with a mix of emotions as I meet his gaze, which is filled with a deep, unspoken intimacy.

In a hushed voice, he asks, "Could you call me by my name instead of 'sir'?" His request sends shivers down my spine, leaving me momentarily speechless. Stuttering slightly, I manage to say, "But sir, I’m just a secretary. How can I call you by your name?" He looks at me, his eyes softening, and says, "But I want you to. I don’t like hearing 'sir' from you. I want to hear my name."

I hesitate for a moment, my heart racing, before I finally whisper, "Okay, Mr. Zayden." Hearing this, a smile spreads across his face, and seeing him smile for the first time since we met makes me unexpectedly happy. He hasn’t smiled even once since we’ve been working together, but now, he looks genuinely pleased.

"That sounds better," he says softly. I quickly greet him and leave the room, my mind racing with everything that just happened. As I step outside, I see Albertin waiting in the car for me. I get in, and we drive away from the building, my thoughts still swirling with the intensity of my encounter with Zayden.

Then We return to the office, and Albertin compliments me on my ideas. I smile and thank him before heading back to my cabin.
