-- the body --

MY EYES flattered open the next morning, my legs aching from running a whole lot yesterday. the flashbacks started to hit as i stood up from my bed and continued to make my way through the still house.

will was found, dead. i couldn't make myself believe it was true and then the news started to splurge around on barbera holland going missing and rumours spreaded around like quickfire that she took off from home. but the barbara i hope I knew, wouldn't do that.

i stifled yawn as i rubbed my eyes and realised i had not taken a shower since i had returned home from the last night's wreckage. i quickly slipped off my clothes and turned the tap to let the cold water spill out onto me. i hissed as i adjusted to the temperature feeling the coldness shiver throughout my whole body.

i shivered, my lips feeling extremly pale and my face drooping much more than before. i had not properly took care of myself because i was so keen on hoping i would find my brother, hoping everyday that maybe he would walk through those doors with his helmet on or he was still silently sleeping in bed.

i really regretted on the fact i pushed jonathan to take the shift and neglect my brother who i supposed forgot. if i had been home that night, maybe someone -something- wouldn't have taken him. i shooked the thoughts away as the water slowly rinsed down the drain whilst i rub my towel against my bare skin.

i slipped onto a set of freshly new clothes that i laid on my bed. i walked out, my hair still dripping from the shower --

report coming in on the byers case is that he was found by the quarry by the passer-by.

my ears perked from the radio that was blaring loudly in the living room. there were no signs of jonathan or mom which i guessed that they went to sign off my brother's dead body.

the biopsy is saying that he supposedly fell over from biking near the edge of the quarry. what a weird kid--

i clicked the radio off before they could spew out their dumb opinions on whatever they thought happen to my brother. there was a message left on the table using a sticky note. the hand writing wasnt that too difficult to read since it was merely like mine.

'off to casket's and mom signing will off- grab his stuff from school yeah?'

it read off, my heart aching. it was now that i was slowly soaking into the fact my brother was gone and I didn't even get to see him once. they wouldn't release his body nor let the family see it. what were they hiding, i mean he just fell off a quarry right?

i wiped the tear that fell onto my cheek and wiped my nose which was turning red slowly. i grabbed the toast that was beside it and placed into my mouth. i shut the door behind and made my way to hawkins high, my heart empty.

_____________

the corridors of hawkins high was suspiciously empty. they should be having class around this time so i decided to make a sprint for the middle school which was just up the hill before the bell had rung. the bag i had brought to clear will's locker was slunged onto my shoulder, bouncing as i jogged throughout the hallway.

in a matter of seconds, i had reached wills locker which was perfectly decorated with stickers from the board game he plays - dungeons and dragons - i clicked it open, seeing that his passcode was similar to mine. our birthday. we both were born on the same day different year. amazing right.

his locker was piled with a bunch of different textbooks and worksheets that laid around messingly and notes filling the sides. the walls of his locker was plastered with photos of his friends. i grabbed them all and started to dump them into the bag.
