Normally I enjoy the solarity when I'm the only one in the cabin, but coming home to an empty cabin while needing medical attention was the worst timing. Why did there have to be an animal trap? A distant gunshot had startled me, causing me to spin around and step backwards. I stumbled to the ground after I had stepped in the trap. Then proceeded to wrestle my way out of it using my hatchets. Of course Kate, Brian, Tim and Rouge had to be on a mission today.
I lifted my pant leg further up so I could look at the wound better. To make it a bit easier for me I sat down on the floor. The wound was bleeding heavily because of the large size. My skin was torn in multiple places. Might've also fractured something. No clue. I tried to soak some of the blood with a few pieces of kitchen roll. The bleeding didn't stop. I didn't know how to make it stop. If I bandaged my leg now the blood would seep through within no time.
I don't have a choice other than to ask EJ for help.
For a moment I debated trying to continue patching up the wound myself. Any excuse not to be eye to eye with him. Ignoring the fact he doesn't have eyes— Nevermind. A puddle of blood had formed on the ground from the amount of blood dripping. I quickly wiped the puddle away with more kitchen roll. Maybe it was better none of the other Proxies were home, they hate it when I make a mess. I would get scolded for bleeding all over the floor. Trust me I'd stop if I knew how to.
I stood up and threw the blood soaked kitchen roll pieces in the trashcan. After taking one last look at my leg I decided I really had no choice. I made my way to the basement door. There was no lightswitch next to the door. I opened the door and stepped onto the first stair downwards. I fumbled for a lightswitch. Still couldn't find it. With both my hands on each of the walls beside me I slowly made my way down the dark basement stairs. As soon as I made it to the bottom I tried looking for a lightswitch again. Letting both my hands glide around the walls. It was pitch black down here. How the hell was I going to find Jack if I couldn't even see him..? A part of me wanted to give up. Yet the stubborn part of me knew I had to keep going. EJ could also not be at the cabin for all I know.
Only one way to find out.
''Jack? Are you down here?''
I waited for a response, any sign or noise that he was down here. But was met with silence.
''Hello? I... I need your help.''
Maybe he was sleeping, I should yell harder. I opened my mouth to yell out to him again. Before even the slightest peep could escape from me I was cut off by EJ's voice. Right in front of me.
''The hell do you want?'' He growled in annoyance
The realization he was standing right infront me without having heard him made me flinch. My heartbeat increased. I started to second guess my decision to come down here. Was he standing there the entire time or did he approach me silently?! Didn't matter. Time was ticking.
''I'm bleeding, no-nobody is home to help me.''
''So? Not my problem.''
