(Alex POV)

Alex Mikaelson observed the vampire legion's interactions with Kai from the shadows, his hybrid eyes narrowed in concentration. As the son of a powerful Mikaelson and a witch, he had always been intrigued by the complex dynamics of the supernatural world.

What had transpired to make these vampires, once sworn enemies of the Mikaelsons, now revere Kai as their king? Alex knew there had to be a reason behind this unexpected alliance. His family's protection and his own future were at stake, and he was determined to uncover the truth.

Moving stealthily, Alex watched as the vampires obeyed Kai's every command, their loyalty seemingly unwavering. He couldn't help but wonder what Kai had done to earn such devotion from these once-foes. Was it through manipulation, or had Kai forged a genuine connection with the vampire legion?

Resolving to find out, Alex continued his silent observation, his hybrid abilities allowing him to move undetected. The answers he sought could hold the key to safeguarding his family and securing his own place in the supernatural hierarchy. With a newfound sense of purpose, Alex was more determined than ever to unravel the mystery surrounding Kai and the vampire legion.

Suddenly, Alex found himself at a party happening inside his family's old mansion. As he scanned the room, his eyes landed on Kai, who was making his way towards him.

"Well, well, if it isn't the young Alex Mikaelson," Kai said, a sly grin spreading across his face. "I must say, I'm surprised to see you here."

Alex tensed, his hybrid eyes narrowing. "Kai," he acknowledged, his voice laced with caution.

The vampire legion around them began to murmur, their eyes darting between the two supernatural's. It was clear that they held a deep-seated fear and distrust towards Alex, likely due to the rumors of his ruthlessness and merciless nature.

"What brings you to my humble abode?" Kai asked, his tone dripping with false politeness.

Alex's jaw tightened. "I could ask you the same question. This used to be my family's home, after all."

Kai chuckled, unfazed by Alex's veiled hostility. "Ah, yes, the infamous Mikaelsons. I must say, I've heard quite a lot about your family's... exploits."

The vampire legion shifted uncomfortably, their loyalty to Kai seemingly wavering in the face of Alex's presence.

"What have you done to earn their devotion, Kai?" Alex asked, his gaze sweeping over the uneasy vampires. "From what I've seen, they fear you as much as they respect you."

Kai's eyes gleamed with a hint of amusement. "My friend Alex, I've simply forged a connection with them that they can't resist. After all, what's a king without his loyal subjects?"

Alex narrowed his eyes, unconvinced by Kai's nonchalant response. "Cut the crap, Kai. I know you too well to believe that. What did you promise them in exchange for their allegiance?"

Kai chuckled, unfazed by Alex's accusation. "I promised them the one thing they crave most - power. With me as their king, they have access to resources and opportunities they could only dream of before."

The vampires shifted again, their expressions a mix of fear and uncertainty. Alex could sense their loyalty wavering, and he knew this was his chance to get the truth."

So, they're your minions, then? Doing your bidding without question?" Alex pressed, stepping closer to Kai. "Tell me, Kai, do your minions still document my every move?"

Kai's smile faded, and he regarded Alex with a newfound seriousness. "My friend, you know I would never betray your trust. These vampires are loyal to me, but they also respect your place in the Mikaelson family. They know better than to interfere with your affairs."
