Maze runner oneshots

1. confession

Newt pov:
I've liked Tommy since he came up in the box but i didn't knew I'd fall this hard. I didn't plan to confess to him because I think he likes Theresa but something in me is still hoping that it's me.

I slowly got up from my hammock and made my way over to the kitchen fry was busy giving everyone their lunch. A few gladers greeted me as I made my way up to fry.

"Eww what is that?" Chuck asked as fry looked offended by the little guy's comment.
"It's my special stew" fry answered. Chuck pulled out a hair from the stew and went over to a table with a disgusted expression.
"Hey fry. I'm not really hungry so please give me a small portion."
"Are you really not hungry or are you also disgusted by my food?"
"Don't take chuck too serious"

Fry scoffed and handed me my food. I sat down next to chuck and Zart because Tommy and Minho were still running the maze.
I thought about the tomatoes I had to plant and where I should plant them as I slowly ate my stew. Chuck was right, it really was disgusting but I'd never tell fry about that.

After I finished eating I slowly got up, put my bowl away and went to the garden.
I noticed the sky getting darker so i looked to the maze. It wouldn't be long until Minho and Thomas came back. As I finished my work I sat under a tree near the maze doors, waiting for Tommy and Minho. I didn't have to wait long because I soon saw two people running out of the maze.

"How was your run?" I asked as the two males beside me breathed heavily.
"It was good but I really need food and a shower" Thomas said
"Me too. Maybe we should shower together Thomas" Minho joined our conversation
"Yeah no way. I'm not taking a shower with you"

After They showered we went to dinner. After that they wished me a goodnight before I went to the council hall to do some second in command stuff. I eventually finished and went to sleep.

Timeskip
The sky was dark and the moon illuminated the glade in a white, beautiful light. I couldn't sleep so I got up and walked into the woods.

Two years. Exactly two years ago I jumped from the wall. I still have a limp and sometimes my leg still hurts really bad. No one noticed that I was slightly down today, but that was because I tried to act normal. I hate it when people worry about me and I don't want other people to pity me just because they hear that past Newt tried to kill himself.

As I came to the lake I saw someone already sitting there. I immediately recognized the person as Tommy. It was a warm night, so I decided to sneak up behind him and push him in the lake. I slowly made my way to him , but as soon as I stood behind him he pulled my arm causing me to fall in the lake.

"Bloody hell why would you do that?"
"Oh don't act all innocent now. I know that you planned on pushing me in."
"How?"
"You're not quite a silent walker"
"Ok you got me there" I said as I pulled his leg. Before Tommy realized what happened he was next to me completely wet from head to toe.

We both looked at each other and bursted out laughing.
"Really newt ?"
"Just getting some revenge"
"Revenge huh?" He asked before splashing water on me. It turned into a big water battle and I'd say I won but Tommy would say otherwise.

After some time the water got a bit cold so we got out and lay on the ground. We were silent, but it was a comfortable silence.

Maybe I should confess. The worst he can do is saying no. Wait no the worst he can do is laugh and tell everyone. Then everyone will make fun of me and I'll have no friends. I won't be useful anymore and then I'll get banished whilst they stay there and laugh. And then Minho will shower with Thomas T.T wait I'm overthinking Tommy would never shower with him but what if-

"Newt" Thomas interrupted my overthinking
"Hmm?"
"Did you ever have a crush on someone?"
"Why are you asking?"
"Idk just asking. But I just realized that question was stupid."
"Why do you think it's stupid?"
"Because this is a guys maze."
"So?"
"Are you gay?"

What do I say now ? I can't say yes because he'll laugh at me. I have to lie

"No I'm not. But why were you asking if I had a crush in first place?"
"I wanted to know how it feels to have a crush because I think I'm developing a crush on someone"

"I don't have a crush but I think if you have one you'd be happy if you're around them. You'd love to see them smile and think that they're beautiful no matter what. I also heard that butterflies will grow in your stomach but I don't think they'd survive fry's stew."

"Butterflies? Seriously?"
"That's all you took from that? But anyways do you have a crush?"
"Yea I think I do"
"Who is it?"
"It's Theresa"

I obviously hoped it was me and not that stupid Theresa but deep down I knew he had fallen for her. I was just in denial.

"Ah cool" I said awkwardly. Then I faked a Yawn and rubbed my eyes.
"Newt, are you tired?"
"Yeah I think I'll go to bed"

With that I stood up and walked through the woods torwards my hut. Slowly I felt tears running down my cheeks.
That stupid Theresa I should tell her Thomas wants to meet her at the highest maze wall and push her down but sadly that wouldn't kill her. I could poison her food and everybody will think it's because of fry's cooking skills. Maybe I should stab her in her sleep. But that wouldn't stop Tommy from loving her

I sighed
It was hopeless I should just get over him. The last time I felt so empty was two years ago when I jumped. Slowly I got into my hammock and cried myself to sleep.
