Chapter Eleven

Everyone attended the funeral of Mayor Walker. As the priest said her words, Enid side hugged Y/N.

Y/N hugged her back as he looked around at the crowd. Everyone was silent. Some were even crying. Including the Walker family.

"C'mon." Y/N whispered as people began to walk away. Y/N gently lead Enid away from the recently made grave.

"He didn't deserve this." Enid whispered.

"I know." Y/N softly replied.

"He was an asshole." Hope softly spoke as she walked beside Y/N. "But he was a good one."

"Agreed." Y/N hummed.

"This is definitely connected to that monster that beat your ass." Hope shrugged as she continued to walk.

"Why did you have to throw in that last part?" Y/N groaned as he and Enid followed the brunette.

Later that afternoon, Enid softly entered her old room. When she closed the door and turned around, Wednesday already stood in front of her.

"Hi." Enid smiled as she slowly walked closer. "Sorry, I figured you were still at Mayor Walker's wake.

"As soon as the dirt hits the coffin, I'm out." Wednesday told the blonde.

"I can't seem to find my bottle of silver moon nail polish. Do you mind if I look around?" Enid asked as she walked to what was once her side of the room. "Yoko's hosting a mani-pedi party for her crew."

"This is the third time in twenty-four hours you've forgotten something." Wednesday spoke in her usual tone.

"So, how is everything going?" Enid softly asked.

"Solitude suits me

"Solitude suits me. With no annoying distractions, I'm almost finished with my novel." Wednesday answered.

"Was I an annoying distraction?" Enid asked.

"You definitely had some annoying habits."

"Such as?"

"You giggle when you text, which is a 24/7 addiction."

"At least it's not a migrane-inducing typewriter hammering into my head."

"When not grinding your canines, you growl in your sleep."
