"Loki! How kind of you to pay us another visit. Up for round two of the fight for world dominance?"

Loki chuckled. "If it isn't the man with one eye himself. You and Odin would've made great friends."

Fury kept a stern face. "Cage seem familiar? I have some more terms and conditions you're going to have to agree with in order to protect your life."

"Perhaps that's how I managed to trick both of you so easily: you both lack an eye."

"Touch the glass and 80,000 volts of electricity will electrocute you at a high amperage."

"An eye for an eye. Ooh—" Loki winced— "That wouldn't end well for you, would it?"

Fury smiled, a malicious thing. "Do you know why that number is so special? It's the minimum voltage of electricity your brother's hammer gives off. However, I can always up that number, your brother gave us some valuable data to work with."

No response.

"Good luck with trying to escape this time. I hate repeating myself, but perhaps you need a little reminder. Ant—" he gestured towards Loki— "Boot."

He left the confinement area and walked back into the surveillance room where James was watching the interaction take place.

Ramson patted James on the back although it felt more like a shove. "Leyings, you're up. Do what you do best."

James took a deep breath and walked out of the safety of the surveillance room. He felt a little like Little Red Riding Hood; alone, walking steadily towards the big bad wolf.

As he tapped in the security code for the containment area, he remembered the words Fury had told him when he was first called by the director of S.H.I.E.L.D for a meeting.

"Loki is a trickster. He can manipulate minds easily. I am told that you would be the least susceptible to his mind games."

"I don't know if my abilities will work beyond the glass. I haven't done anything like this before."

"Do what you must to get that information from them. As far as I'm concerned, Loki is a threat to this Earth. The lives of billions are in your hands, Mr Leyings."

The emotionally manipulative bastard. James hated that his tactics actually worked.

He shut the door and heard it lock from the outside. It's just me and him now.

Loki wore a bored expression as she strolled back and forth. James sat cross-legged on the floor outside of the cell. Loki turned, smiled, then mimicked his actions closer to the glass.

"Hello again," James began.

Loki stared into his eyes. Green, James thought instinctively. Piercing.

"Hello."

He let out a tense breath. "So last time you were here you were trying to kill everybody. Where you at these days?"

"It varies from moment to moment."

She kept staring at him which only furthered his discomfort. He didn't look away though.

"What is your name?" Loki asked.

"Batman."

Her eyebrows creased but otherwise there was no other reaction.

James sighed. "It's no fun if you don't give a reaction."

"That isn't your real name, is it?"

"I don't know, is it?" Sue him for wanting to have a little fun while at his job.
