"Fuck, this cupcake is delicious."
Trey and I stood in the kitchen on Saturday morning, the cupcake that Kori gave me was on the counter, and I had offered him some. I had eaten some Friday night, and it was incredible.
Trey was very pleased.
I looked at the box.
"The bakery is called...Sunflower," I said to Trey.
"Can we go there? I want to get some goodies for my mom since I'm seeing her tomorrow."
"When, like right now?"
"Fuck yeah right now," Trey nodded, "It's Saturday morning, we've got nothing to do but celebrate you all day. Let's go, I'll drive. We'll get something for Rachel even though she'll kill us for getting her sweets after her Pilates class."
"She'll secretly love it," I chuckled, "Let me just change into clothes that are presentable for the public and not my pajamas with cats all over them."
I went to my bedroom and put on a cute flannel shirt, dark-wash jeans, and boots. My long, dark hair was lightly curled at the ends and I quickly put on some makeup.
I slid into the passenger seat on Trey's Acura, and he put in the address to Sunflower, which was 25 minutes away.
"Are you still talking to Colin, the guy you met from Glow?" I asked Trey as he drove.
Trey nodded and smiled, "I am. He's really nice. I think I may go see him tonight after we have dinner."
"Good. You deserve someone who treats you well."
"So do you! Any woman would be lucky to have you, Ash. Just not Gabby's dumbass."
I grimaced, "She texted me for my birthday. Yesterday."
Trey rolled his blue eyes, "She was off by a day. That's all you need to know."
"I'm not texting her back. Especially after what I saw at Glow...no way."
"Glad to hear it," Trey nodded.
We got to Sunflower, which was the cutest bakery with a floral theme, and sunflower decor everywhere. There was a counter, and tables full of cakes and fresh breads, which is what I assumed Kori would buy.
There were two women behind the counter, one younger and one older, and Trey went right up to them.
"Hi," he said, "I'm not sure what kind of crack you put in your cupcakes, but they're amazing. I want to get a bunch of treats."
The two women started laughing, and so did I.
"Of course, how can we help you, hon?" The older woman asked Trey.
As Trey started ordering and asking the women questions, I looked around at the tables, admiring the different loaves of breads such as pumpkin and banana chocolate chip, all of the cookie displays, and baguettes.
A moment later, I heard the door to the bakery open, but I didn't look to see who had come in.
I heard a woman's voice say, "Elliot, Delilah, you can get two treats each, no more."
I then saw two kids, the girl taller than the boy, run up to the counter and look at the glass display full of cupcakes, cookies, and other treats.
"No ordering without me!" the woman said, with a chuckle.
I then heard the door to the shop open again, but I also didn't look, as I was trying to decide which treat I should possibly get Addison.
She loves monkey bread...should I get her that?
