We stepped out of the cab, making our way towards the entrance of Capital Arena, where excitement buzzed in the air. The posters outside gleamed under the lights, and Dr. Cho stopped, glancing at them with a curious look.
"A live concert?" she asked, her brows raised in surprise.
I couldn't help but grin as I pulled out two tickets from my jacket pocket. "Premier day," I said, showing them to her.
Her lips curled into a smile, though she still seemed unsure. "BTS?"
I smirked, feigning shock. "Dr. Cho, what are you doing? You've dragged me into the K-pop web, and now you're the one lagging behind the trend?"
She shook her head with a soft laugh. "I've heard about them, but... are they even good?"
I gasped dramatically, clutching my chest like she'd just committed some sort of sacrilege. "You're lucky you said that now and in front of me," I teased. "Listen carefully—if you say something like that in the next few years, someone's going to put a bounty on your head."
Her eyes widened with amusement, and she let out a laugh. "You think they could be that popular?"
I nodded seriously, but with a smile. "Remember I mentioned a storm earlier? Well, that storm's called Bangtan Sonyeondan. This is just the beginning."
She sighed, a faint smile lingering on her lips. "Okay then. Let's see what this storm is all about."
With a nod, we made our way inside. The moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was electric—excited fans chattering, the distant hum of music, and the glowing lights of the stage ahead. The Arena was packed, and it was clear BTS was starting to spread their wings, capturing attention far and wide.
As we found our seats, I couldn't help but think about how far this group would go. I had already heard of their immense popularity in the future, even in my part of the world. Dr. Cho had no idea that she was witnessing the rise of a cultural phenomenon.
"Trust me," I whispered as we sat down, "you're about to see history in the making."
She gave me a curious glance but didn't say anything, simply nodding as we both turned our attention to the stage, waiting for the show to begin.
This was one of BTS's initial mega concerts, so a large portion of the audience hadn't anticipated what was coming. After their introduction, the arena hummed with curiosity, but once RM started rapping, the energy shifted.
I glanced to my right and saw Dr. Cho placing her hand over her mouth, clearly trying to suppress an imaginary scream. The show was called The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, and it truly felt like it. The band came together as the beat dropped, and the atmosphere instantly intensified.
To be honest, I'd never attended this kind of concert before, so the whole experience was overwhelming in the best way. Slowly, the crowd transformed—the silent onlookers started screaming, and the screaming fans began singing and dancing along with every beat. The notes from Suga and Jin layered perfectly over the rhythm, creating something electric that vibrated through the entire arena.
In just an hour, the curtain closed, but Dr. Cho wasn't ready to leave. Her excitement hadn't simmered down one bit. As we made our way out, she kept chatting non-stop, "The rapper who started—what's his name again?"
I shrugged, feigning indifference. "MR, I guess?"
She immediately shook her head, almost hitting me in the process, "He's RM!"
She was so caught up in her excitement that she nearly bumped into a few people as we wove through the crowd. I had to step in, guiding her out and, at some points, even shielding her from the oncoming wave of fans trying to exit the venue. It felt like I was her bodyguard for the night, protecting her from her own clumsy, excited self.
