       "You gotta get rid of him," Angel said.
       "What? No! He's mine!"  Sugar hugged the dog.
        "Val sent that," He started. "Did you read the letter?" Angel leaned against her bedroom door.
         "I did," She picked the letter up.
         "What'd it say?" Angel goes to reach for it but Sugar pulls the paper away.
          "Nothing much.. just that he was sorry and that- hey!" Angel snatched it.

He examined it,

Just something I wanted to give to show my love for you.

   -Val ❤️

Angel glared at the note, "Nowhere in this letter does it say sorry."
             "Well I think it was sweet that he remembered.." she looked down.

He sighed, he knew it was hard; especially after Val starts to give. But she tried so hard, "Look I get it, but he's not just giving you the dog-"
          "Barktholomew," Sugar interrupted.
          "What?" Angel asked.
          "That's what I named him," She kissed the dog's head.
         "What kind of name- whatever look, he didn't give that to you just because he was sorry, he wants you back; it's a favor for a favor," He tried to explain.
          "I know.." She still wasn't looking at him.
          "Are you thinking about going back?" He asked.

Sugar doesn't answer, this makes his stomach drop; "You can't go back."
         "It's not easy," she looked up. "I owe him, he found me, he saved me."
        "I understand, but please, don't go back," Angel pleaded. "If you do this, you'll be back at square one."
         "I don't want to be homeless again Angel," she burst into tears.

Angel sat next to her on the bed, "You're not gonna be homeless, okay?"

Sugar nods in agreement, "You shouldn't go back either."
           "I can't.." he looks defeated.
           "Why?" She raises an eyebrow.
           "It's- it's just different okay?" He lays back on the bed.

It's quiet for a while, he hears a lighter being lit, he sits up to see Sugar lighting a blunt; "See? Look at you, now you're into drugs."
             "I've always done drugs," she blew smoke out of her mouth. "Who are you to tell me about doing drugs?"
              "Whatever,"  he rolled his eyes. "Are you at least gonna share that?" She handed him the blunt, "You going to the party in a few days?"
               "Party?" Sugar looked confused.
               "It's to bring in more sinners into the hotel," he passes it back. "Ya know what no, you're comin to that party."

Sugar laughed, "Okay."

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        "Yes I got it," Sugar said into the phone.
        "Well?" Valentino's voice came from the other side, he sounded impatient.
         "Thank you, I just don't know-"
         "Don't know what? If you can do your job?" He interrupted her.
Sugar put her hands through her hair, "No I can do my job," she mumbled.
           "Then why aren't you doing it?!" He yelled. "You know what? If you don't get back here, I'm going to come get you myself; trust me you don't want me to come get you," Valentino threatened leaving Sugar in a cold sweat. "Are we at an understanding? Or do I need to demonstrate?"
            "No! I understand, I'll be there tomorrow," She said, feeling horrible.
             "No, you'll be here in an hour," Sugar could almost see the smug look on his face.
             "Ok."
The call ended and the room was filled with silence, Sugar looked around her room. She was bringing trouble here and she didn't want to do that. Charlie didn't deserve that, Angel didn't deserve that; no one did. She grabbed her duffel bag and started packing it, it didn't sound like anyone was in the hall; she could probably make it out the door if she was-
