The neon sign above the door of Patrick's Bar flickered in and out, casting a faint red glow across the wet pavement. It was a typical Saturday night in the small town, where Patrick's was the local watering hole for those seeking solace or a little company. The chatter of the crowd blended with the low hum of an old jukebox in the corner, playing songs that seemed stuck in a perpetual loop from a decade ago.

Taylor Swift hadn't planned on being back in her hometown, much less at Patrick's. She had left this town behind years ago, carving out a new life for herself in the bustling city, far from the quiet streets and familiar faces. But life had a funny way of throwing curveballs, and here she was, back for the weekend to see her parents. Her old high school friends had convinced her to go out for a drink, but after a few rounds of catching up, they had all drifted away, leaving Taylor nursing a whiskey on the rocks at the bar, lost in thought.

She hadn't been inside Patrick's since she was eighteen. The bar was just as she remembered it: the same dark wood paneling, the same crooked pool table in the back corner, and the same group of regulars propped up at the bar. Some things never changed. But as the blonde took a slow sip of her drink, her eyes fell on someone who most definitely had.

Travis Kelce.

He was leaning against the far wall, talking to a couple of his friends. Even after all these years, Taylor would have recognized him anywhere. He still had that confident posture, the strong jawline and the mess of dark brown hair that he'd always kept a little too long.

He looked good- better than he had any right to, she thought with a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Time had been kind to him. His shoulders were broader now, his frame more filled out, but his smile was the same- easygoing, with a hint of mischief.

Taylor and Travis had been inseparable back in high school, that classic couple everyone assumes would make it. They were young and reckless, and their chemistry was undeniable. Still, they'd broken up right before graduation, a messy end to a passionate relationship. Taylor had wanted out of the small town, while Travis was content staying, working with his dad's auto repair business. They were just two kids with different dreams, and like so many young couples, they hadn't survived the split.

Taylor wasn't sure if she wanted to talk to him or not. What would she even say? They were different people now, shaped by different experiences. Before she could make a decision, Travis' eyes met hers across the room, and she felt that old, familiar jolt run through her- something between excitement and nerves.

Travis excused himself from his friends and started walking toward her, his hands casually tucked into his jeans pockets. As he got closer, Taylor's pulse quickened. He stopped a few feet away, that boyish grin still in place.

"Well, well, Taylor Swift," he said, his voice rich and warm. "I never thought I'd see you back in this place."
She couldn't help herself but smile. "Didn't think I'd ever be back, to be honest."

"City life suits you, huh?" The tall man asked, leaning a little closer. His cologne mixed with the scent of whiskey and old wood, creating a familiar and oddly comforting aroma.

"It has its perks," she replied, taking a sip of her drink. "But I guess every now and then, a little nostalgia doesn't hurt."
He chuckled. "That's why you're here? Feeling nostalgic?"
"Something like that," she said, her gaze steady on his.
