3RD POV

The day had a haunting stillness to it. The skies, painted with muted shades of gray, seemed reluctant to offer even the comfort of rain. The wind barely stirred the trees, as if nature itself knew that any movement might disrupt the fragile peace of the gathering. A small group had assembled in a quiet clearing just outside Magnolia. They were not many, but they didn't need to be—this was a gathering for those who truly knew Suguru Geto, not as the enemy he had become but as the man he once was.

At the center of the group stood Wendy, her small frame trembling as she tried—and failed—to hold back her tears. Her head was bowed, and her hands were clenched tightly into the fabric of her dress. Beside her was Charle, her usual sharp gaze softened by grief as she stayed close to her partner, offering silent support. But Wendy didn't want to be comforted; she was drowning in guilt.

Wendy: "I could've done something."

Wendy whispered, her voice so quiet that it was almost lost in the stillness.

Wendy: "I should've done something sooner."

She wasn't talking to anyone in particular, but the weight of her words hung in the air, reaching everyone's ears. It was a sentiment that some shared in their own way, but no one more so than Y/n Gojo, who stood nearby, watching the girl with eyes that reflected his own sadness.

He stepped forward quietly, his normally cheerful and easygoing demeanor absent, replaced by a seriousness that seemed almost foreign to those who knew him. Y/n placed a hand on Wendy's head, the gesture gentle, almost fatherly. She looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her lip quivering as she tried to speak, but he stopped her with a small shake of his head.

Y/n: "This isn't your fault, Wendy."

Gojo said softly, his voice carrying the weight of someone who had lived with guilt for far too long.

Y/n: "If there's anyone to blame, it's me. Suguru was my best friend. I should've seen it coming."

Wendy blinked, her tears slipping down her cheeks as she shook her head.

Wendy: "But I could've—"
Y/n: "No. You couldn't have. He made his choice a long time ago. There's nothing any of us could have done."

Wendy collapsed into Gojo's chest, her sobs growing louder as she let out the guilt and grief she had been holding in. The sound of her cries echoed through the clearing, and for a moment, everyone felt the weight of her pain.

Not far from them, Erza stood with her arms crossed, her normally fierce expression softened by sorrow. Even Erza, who was so used to facing death and loss, couldn't quite hide the pain she felt for the man they were burying. Suguru Geto had once fought alongside them, shared their struggles, and dreamed of a better world. It was hard to reconcile that with the man he had become.
