Dwelling

On a fine day, I walked across the shore barefoot. As I slowly wandered around, I looked back and found nothing.

The traces of my footsteps were gone, and I wondered why they had disappeared.

While walking, I constantly looked back and saw that the sea waves were stealing my traces.

I questioned the sea, "Why are you washing away my footprints?"

The sea replied, "I'm giving you a chance with each wave I send."

I asked, "What do you mean by that?"

The sea responded, "With each wave, I erase your past burdens and regrets."

I realized something then...

The sea gently asked, "Why are you looking back rather than looking ahead? Don't you want to move forward?"

Yes, why am I so intent on looking back? What is it I'm trying to hold on to my past, or the painful memories?

The sea whispered quietly, "Each wave is a chance to start anew, much like each day in life."

And with that, I chose to walk forward, without concern for the footprints that were no longer there.

The sea constantly washes away the past, urging us to focus on the present and the future. The footprints represent memories, regrets, and experiences, but gradually the sea erases them, just like time.

Dwelling on past mistakes or missed opportunities prevents us from embracing the new experiences waiting ahead.
