On a fine morning
Tree: "Ah, what a splendid day! The morning light feels so warm—perfect for growth."
Wind: "Hmm... It’s rather dull today. I’m not sure I can even stir."
Tree: "You’re here early! Any news from distant lands?"
Wind: "Well, there’s a remarkable tree on Seventh Street. It’s quite a competitor, you know."
Tree: "Oh, don’t tease me! But it’s always a pleasure to see you, even with your news."
Wind: "I wish I could say I’m glad to be here, but alas, here I am."
The wind sits quietly on the tree.
Tree: "Everything seems to be changing in this world, even the seasons feel different."
Wind: "Yes, but it’s not our fault, is it?"
Tree: "Do you not enjoy this world?"
Wind: "I’m not sure. It’s hard to say."
The forest listens intently.
The next day, the wind takes a break. In its absence, the tree is cut down by humans.
Wind [returning]: "Where are you, friend? It’s so quiet without you."
Silence deepens.
Wind: "No... this can’t be real. Tell me it isn’t true!"
The forest weeps for the loss.
In its grief, the wind becomes a storm, raging through the forest.
Forest [gently touching the wind]: "The tree left a message for you."
Wind: "Is he...?"
Forest: "The tree said to cherish this world and to never cause harm to others."
The wind, unable to accept the message, rages on.
Forest: "Calm yourself, Wind. Your anger won’t bring him back. He is gone, but there are other trees who need your gentle touch."
Wind: "But no other tree can replace him. How do I cope with this loss?"
As the wind cries and lashes out, soft whispers from the tree reach it.
Tree (whispering): "It’s okay."
The wind gradually calms down.
Wind [to itself]: "Forgive me, old friend. I never meant for it to end this way."
