Some may say there is more than one great love of your life, but for me it is not that simple. There was only one love for me, and I lost it and her. For a while I thought maybe someone else was meant for me but the moment that I met Sienna Cartwright, she changed my fucking world. Five years ago, I lost my love, my best friend and myself in the process.

Grabbing my glass of scotch and taking a drink. The moment I close my eyes I see her. What I wouldn't give to see her smile, to touch that soft skin of hers. God, I miss her even after all this time. I am a miserable prick and the only one who can stand being in my presence is my best friend. She would kick my ass for what I am about to do.

After another one-night stand hoping to feel something, anything at all. I am disappointed once again.

"Jace." I wish you wouldn't talk right now. "Why don't we go out and do something fun?"  Fun? I don't know what that is anymore.

"You know I don't do that."

"I thought since we had such a good time that maybe..." Cutting her off really quick before this escalates even further.

"We had a deal. We fuck and that's it. We are not in a fucking relationship Crystal."

"But I thought..." If I was the same person from who I was five years ago I wouldn't be like this and I know she would be so disappointed in me. Fuck! I hate myself.

"You thought wrong. Now go."

"Jace you are a real asshole. You know that!" Never said I was a saint. Yet you keep coming back to get some of this dick.

Throwing her clothes on quickly glaring at me the whole time as I drink my scotch. I wish I could care, I just don't. Not anymore.

"What?" Can we just get this shit over with now?

"One day Jace, you will meet a woman and fall madly in love." Scoffing at that because it is not going to happen. "I hope when that day comes that you get your heart broken." It's been broken for a long time now.

My jaw ticks because she hits a nerve that my hands shake. "GET THE HELL OUT!" Without another word the door slams shut and the scotch in my hand is across the room with glass shattering everywhere. "Fuck!" I wish I could move on, but I can't, my stupid heart won't let me.

"Jace!" Her smile hits me hard as she laughs and shakes her head. "I am not doing this. You are out of your mind."

"Come on Sie, live a little. It will be fun." Wrapping my arms around he, the way she giggles puts a smile on my face.

"Not if we break a bone or worse."

"I promise everything will be just fine." Tugging on the rope to prove my point. I still see the doubts in her eyes. "I will not let anything bad happen to you."

"I trust you."

But she shouldn't have trusted me, because somehow, I still ended up hurting her in the end. Her shrieks of laughter echoes around us as we sing on the rope and jump into the cold water.

Snapping out of my memories of her I answer my phone that will not shut up. "Jace Andrews." Cursing myself for not looking at the caller id. "What do you want?"

"Well, I can tell you are Mr. Sunshine today." I love your sarcasm but not after thinking about her.

"Cut the crap Jess. What do you want?"

"Fine." I feel like shit acting like this, especially to her. "Are you coming back home anytime soon?"

"You know I can't, Jess." We have had this conversation over and over again. She was Sienna's best friend now that she is gone, Jess is the only one that can deal with my moods.
