Sam shifted back as soon as Ava collapsed.
He wanted to rush over to her but stopped himself when he heard Micheal, Ava's grandfather's voice. "I'd get some clothes on first, young man." He looked down at himself, and realized that his clothes were torn to shreds.
He sighed and tipped his head back, "Great."
"I'll get you some thing from Devon's wardrobe." Silvia said, as she stood.
"What? Why mine?" Devon started to complain. But one look form his grandmother shut him up.
"Delilah dear, grab one of those pillows and that throw and make sure your mother is more comfortable, will you dear?"
"Okay, nana."
He watched at his daughter bounced up to do her grandmother's bidding. He smiled as he watched her fuss over her mother, before he realized that he was standing there naked as the day he was born. With his children in the same room as him, along with his mother and his mates grandparents.
This couldn't have been more of a shit show if he had tried.
Silvia came back within a minute and handed him some clothes that he was sure would be a little tight, but at least it would cover all the important bits.
"Thank you Silvia." He said right before he quickly pulled the clothes on.
"Now that everyone is fully clothed," Silvia said. "Why don't we start with you explaining what we just saw? Preferably before Ava wakes up."
He sighed, how was he supposed to explain this.
"We can skip the part about werewolves." Micheal said. "We already know all that. Well, Ava doesn't know, of course. But we do."
"What? How?" His mother asked, as shocked as he was.
"Oh, Daisy dear, did you think we could live here our entire lives and not know about all of you?" Silvia admonished. "I mean, as secretive as you all are you should really try and hold your tempers a little better. The eyes are the windows of the soul after all, dear."
"But...That's not...I mean we are always so careful. When did you...?"
"Daisy," Micheal sighed. "We may be old, but we aren't stupid. We have been living in this town all of our lives. Seen many things that couldn't be explained. Watched as youngsters coupled up with people they had previously had no contact with. And not to mention all the wolves around." He chuckled. "This isn't exactly wolf country, dear."
Both his mother and himself were slack jawed.
They had no idea that anyone could have figured out their secret. Let alone the two of the sweetest old people he had ever met.
"Now, let's start with why you kept it from Ava, shall we?" Micheal said, as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Sam moved over to sit on the floor next to Ava's feet. He just wanted to be near her, even for a moment. "I couldn't tell her. I wanted to, god did I want to tell her what I was. But as soon as my father, the former Alpha, found out what she was to me he commanded me not to tell her anything, right before he dropped his bomb on me."
This was gonna be difficult for him to explain, not because he couldn't, but because he hated that he hadn't been strong enough to put a stop to it. He was going to do it, though, no matter what. But he couldn't look them in their eye's as he spoke, so he focused on a point on the floor right in front of his legs.
"When my father was younger, after he had become the Alpha, he had promised his best Friend and Beta that if they ever had children they would unite our family's. Either through a mating or through an heir. So when we had both come of age, he gave us an Alpha command. He ordered us both to spend one week every month, when she was ovulating, fucking each other." He shuddered in disgust at the memory of having to touch someone other than his mate. "He didn't care that I had found my mate in Ava. In his eyes she was human and our children wouldn't be strong enough for his liking. He didn't even care when his own Beta, a man who he claimed as a friend, came to him and asked him to rescind the order. He had seen how I was with Ava and knew it went against everything we held dear to force the breading. But he wanted his strong Heir, he wanted the bond. And when Susan found her mate, we were once again denied when we asked him to put a stop to it all. Explaining to her new mate what we had to do to every month was painful. My father didn't care if he knew about it, he only ordered him not to reveal it to anyone else. He had told me that once she had given birth to a strong male child we could stop and Ava would be none the wiser. But when she found out about it all and left me, it gave me the strength I needed to overthrow him."
